Can you drive with (code p0711) engine light on?

Engine light came on Auto-Zone looked up the code p0711. Can the car been driven to service department

I had the problem with the engine light and the ESC light on. At the same time the car would not accelerate. I disconnected and reconnected the battery and works fine now.

hi there have just look at you code book and it says that the secone o2 senser is not working. yes you can drive it but i would not leave it for long.

SOURCE: ESC Off and Engine Lights ON suddenly, the car won't move. Then, I stopped on the side and re-started. the ESC Off light went away but I still have Engine Light ON. I haven't driven since then.

Most auto parts stores Advance/ Autozone etc will get the diagnostics codes from cars computer and tell you why the light is on and what the problem is if there is a problem.

your going to have to check online for that code and usually no matter what you can always drive a car with the check engine light on as long as the car feels fine.

P0335 is for a faulty crankshaft position sensor. AZone does carry the part but shows special order in my area.

some will depending on car, and type of repair ,some require a set amount of key turns and starts and miles driven to clear codes., its easer to scan and clear codes or drive to auto zone ,advanced auto ,pep boys and they will do it for free.

you need to get to a advance auto or auto zone, or similar retail operation. they will scan it for free, write down codes and post back here. As long as the car runs alright and the light is not flashing, it can be driven, but don't let it go too long without finding ut what the codes are.

This the check engine light and indicates that the computer has detected a problem with the engine system. You will need to get the diagnostic code read to identify the problem. Places like Auto Zone or NAPA stores will do this at no charge. Or you can take your car to the dealer or service station.
If the check engine light is blinking, take it in for service as soon as possible, you could cause damage if driven too long this way.

You can either take it to Advance Auto - Auto Zone or Pep Boys as these 3 do systems checks.

Try taking down the VIN# - call a dealer and ask about recalls or Service Bulletins.

you need to get the computer scanned and see what codes are present auto zone does it for free you cant pass an emission test with a check engine light on or right after you clear the codes it has to be driven and be in a ready status to pass hope this helps

The loose gas cap is a quick and easy check to perform, so try that first. The service engine light will remain on until the next "cold" start.
I would also recommend visiting your local Auto Zone and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes. They offer this service free of charge, write the codes down and respond back, I can let you know what they are and mean if you decide to have a technician fix the issue.
