I would replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) at the transmission 1st, also who advised the PCM (computer) was bad? a Jag dealer? I think they are guessing on that, computers rarely fail, maybe 2% of the time if that.

I need to remove the abs light in my 1992 bmw 520i. ABS works fine, however in order to pass inspection, the light will not go out. I am tired of spending money and getting no where to fix the problem....

for the m.ot the light has to be on then go out. i cant see why this cant be fixed, it must not be working. what i have seen to blag a mot is, a wire from the oil pressure switch to the abs light, when off on and running out, this works but leaves the car no abs, you sure not a sensor or the brain died

Bmw 520i 1999 abs/asc lights on diagnostic

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the car

BMW523i Model 1999. ABS/Odometer/Speedometer etc.

hello there, i have and bmw 3 series 325ia progressive 2009, and with bmw its a matter of luck to have your car well, now have you kept in touch with the bmw department where you bought it ? if you do, and they dont help you, you can send an email to the bmw of germany complaining about your problems, you have to put every single detail, since when you bought ( year, number of series etc,) and they will contact the bmw from where you bought, and im sure they will respect you and if you have look, they could even give discounts on cars. hope i helped you, good look!

Abs

Hi samantha_230, the abs control unit will have to be coded to the car, but if this helps the speedo takes it's information from the rear left speed sensor, which also controls the abs for the same wheel so it may be worth getting this checked to make sure it is sending the right signal as this part is alot cheaper than a control unit, regards mark.

Speedometer, RPM, ABS, and Brake light

It's not the fuse. You need to jump start the diagnostic cable. First you need a battery of 9v and short the + and - terminal to the diagnostic cable. Then you will see smoke. After that it should work fine.
