05 Chrysler DVD lights flash sequentsially, unit whirs, stuck disc(s)? Won't eject whatever.

6 disc DVD appears to have stuck disc(s)stuck, won't eject. Lights flash in disc sequence, unit "whirrs" but nothing happens. Stops after a few sequences. I've never used, think kids may have inserted CDs. Dealer says pull dash ($500?). Just want to stop, don't care about DVD unit.

I removed the DVD player and unscrewed the top cover. There were three cds on the top and I removed the small fine screws that are right above the three cds. There is a post and thin brass clips that hold the cds or DVDs up to remove the three top ones turn the screw that looks like a plus symbol and the thin brass pieces will fall off and the DVDs will drop off lift the top up and remove the three DVDs the wires on the side might be to tight to lift up so cut the tape holding them it's blue this will give you another 1/2 inch. The bottom three I'm still working on when I figure it out I will add another comment. One of the thin fingers that are near the front opening on mine seems to have broken the end looks like Bakelite and is split in half after I get them out I will buy a rebuilt or go to junk yard It only takes five minutes to remove

SOURCE: flashing lights

Hi, had the same problem today. Solution: Start engine, blower on max, air direction to cabin, press rear wiper and rear wash buttons simulanteously for 5 seconds (all lights now on steady). Calibration test starts and lights flsh alternately. After first test, AC and recurculation lights flash for the cool down test. If all test pass then rear wiper light blinks slowly (press to exit self test). If AC and recurculation test fails then just 2 lights stay on. To repeat this part of the test press just AC and rear wash simulanteously ( may take several attempts and usually best when engine is cold). Again exit by pressing the rear wiper button once it is the only one flashing (slow blink).

This does work but it took me 15 minutes to finally switch them off!!!

SOURCE: disc stuck in factory installed DVD player

needs a new disc changer. Something is wrong internally. You will be able to get them back if you go to the dealership and get an exchange unit. They will send the discs back when they remanufacture the unit.

SOURCE: DVDs stuck in factory-installed 6-disc DVD movie player

Disclaimer: I am not a professional. This is an account of what I did to replace my DVD changer. If I had been offered the $450 installed option, I would have taken it.

According to the boys at Car Toys and the dealer, once these DVD changers go, they have to be replaced. The dealer quoted me $705, but I found one on E-bay from a highly rated seller for $400. I was able to pull out the DVD changer by popping off the trim betwee the DVD player and the cup holder, and then removing two screws. Note that it may help to remove the cup holder.

Once those two screws at the bottom are removed, it just takes a firm tug on console shell below the DVD player for the whole face of the console to come off. Disconnecting the airbag indicator connector will allow the console face to be pulled far enough away to get at the DVD changer. All connectors have a tab you need to press while pulling.

Two more screws need to be removed to get the DVD changer out. With those screws removed, another firm tug and wiggle will release the DVD changer. You'll probably hear a metal popping sound, which is just the rear grounding tab (I think that's what it is) pulling free from the cage.

Once you can reach the two wiring harnesses behind the DVD changer, pull on the wire bundle to give yourself some slack to work with, while not stressing the cable assemblies too much. Disconect the two connectors at the back of the DVD changer. At that point the DVD changer can be removed, and you can search on E-bay for the part number. My unit had a complete wiring diagram for the two connectors on the sticker, but I couldn't find anyone with the right connectors to install an aftermarket system.

I haven't received the new part yet, so I'm a little nervous about the correct order of connector installation. I'll probably pull the battery terminals while installing the new unit, but here is where you are on your own. Good luck.

SOURCE: My 6 disc DVD changer will not eject, nor play.

I'm having the same problem, although I didn't get the 3 left 3 right thing until I reinstalled the dvd changer to see if it worked. The Haynes manual for Chrysler Voyager & Town & Country 2003-2006 has the steps you'll need to remove it. Just refer to page 11-18, 11-19 for removing the instrument panel, then page 12-9 for 'radio' removal. If you can't get the manual let me know.

Does it play a cd? If so than the decoder for the dvd portion of the head unit may be bad. I would replace it if that's the case.

Cds are stuck in player and wont unload

If power still to CD Player & Radio, the disc may just be stuck into unit. If it won't eject, after many tries, you need to get unit seen to by In Car Installer / Repair. If no power to unit, try fuse box,

My 2005 chev tahoe cd player won't play cd's and won't eject them. The cd light keeps flashing. I don't think there is on stuck. There wasn't any signs of trouble before this...

I have run into this problem many times on your particular type of radio. I have worked in a gm dealership for years. Sometimes we can reprogram them and they work better, but all will eventually need replaced. The cheaper option is to have an aftermarket radio installed, for the price of a new factory radio, you could have a much nicer aftermarket unit.
