Vw beetle sun visor light will not turn off? - 2002 Volkswagen Passat

When you cut the wire you shorted it out. You can't do that unless you disconnect the battery. Check the fuse for the windows.

Have the alternator checked first and the battery tested, if those are ok then check for any light that may be on like map lights or lights in the sun visors.

Is there anything plugged into the 12V accessory sockets? (cell/mobile phone charger, USB charger, dash camera, aftermarket navigation unit). Take them all out. Some of these sockets do not switch off with the ignition depending on the model/market. New/high capacity batteries can deal with some discharging like this overnight but can not when they start losing capacity. Generally a battery's life expectancy is 5 years. You should be replacing it if it's near that age anyway.
Make sure all interior lamps are off (including vanity lights on the back side of the sun visors (if equipped - slide open the plastic cover to see the mirror, a little light comes on).
Otherwise - you need to troubleshoot where the power is going. There are plenty of YT videos out there showing you how to hook up a cheap test meter to the battery and systematically pull fuses until the power drop disappears.

ok.. you either bought the lights over the vanity mirrors in the sun visors... or the lights are not working in the sun visors???? Wow man!... think you could take additional classes in the English language? ... what's this issue with 'extra clock' in between the sun visors are not working'???? Tell you what, since you're convinced you have a problem, Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

Sun visor lights,... remove the sun visor clips you will find a copper insert inside the clip if this has broken (they do) you will need to replace them they 're about $12-15 ea. put them in & open your mirror "Gorgeous"
For the horn check the wire leads on the horn they are probably loose

I think you are talking about the sun visor for the windsheild, most cars of this erra the visor is held in place by 3 screws. after you take them out if there is some kind of light there will be a plug to unplug.

never seen one before... but my best guess would be to keep the sun out. when you put down your visor it doesn't always stop sun from being in your eyes

It the brake pad warning light, prob need your pads changing!

1999 vw passat, no interior lights , no door lights ,no lights on sun visors no boot light.all lights worked 2 months ago ,they all came on again for about 5 minutes last week,and have not worked since ,every thing else works ok .can you help. thanks PETER
