Car air conditioning works very similar to a refrigerator. If hot air coming out of vents go and visuallt and check copreesor clutch cuts when switched on by 2nd person if it cuts in you may have a heater tap problem eg not shutting off, possibility of not enough A/C gas in system if thats the case then leaks needs to be found, this can be done by adding small gas charge to system along with a U/V leak dye. Y ou will probably require aircon tech to solve this poblem. Good luck

I would recharge it then see if that fixes the problem. if it keeps blowing hot the you will more then likely you will need to replace the compressor. but I would check all the line first you might have a leak or one of the lines could have come loose

SOURCE: The a/c in my 2001 lincoln ls isn't blowing out cold air.

I've seen no mention of the 10 Amp fuse under the hood. Has anybody checked to see if that is blown? Mine has blown 3 times in the last 2 months.

To fix the AC unit which blows hot air all the time. Seems like you have a small leak in the system or the AC compressor has gone out. Suggest you try recharging the unit. Make sure you have the correct R-22 or 134A freeon. If this work for a few days then have the leak fixed, if this doesn't work replace the compressor. Check Ebay for the compressor i obtained one for $100.00. Cost $450 at Auto Zone.

SOURCE: air only blows hot on 96 lincoln

Sounds like the heater and a/c blend door actuator. It is located under front center of dash below windshield. Dash must be removed to replace it. I've done it several times.

My lincoln mark lt pickup won't blow cool air

My lincoln had the same issue, first it was the A/C compressor (original). I replaced it with another one (used) and worked for 1 month. Then back to hot air. "A/C experts" told me the compressor was out again. I took it to a Mexican auto shop, old building where the guy works alone and to my surprise...HE FOUND THE PROBLEM!! There was no freon leaks, the lines were freezing cold inside the motor, checked freon>>full. He then checked the filter. This filter is on the end of the line where it is crimped that allows the freon to flow thru. Im no mechanic so explaining what it is, forgive me. I can only show you...the line is silver ad in front of you by the radiator, and its the same tube that goes to where you plug it to add freon. There is a filter that was clogged up and prevented the freon from flowing. He removed all the freon, vacuumed out the system/line, and replaced the filter for less that $3.00. Added freon and his cost was $80.00. Thank God for honest people who work hard for a living. I buy the parts, he replaces and I continue to give him my business. Other expensive auto shops with fancy buildings/prices My Lincoln Mark LT now blows arctic cold air!!!

My lincon is bloweing nothing but hot air what could be roung

Well for the airconditioner to work you will need freon 134a.You will also have to inspect for leaks at the air conditioning hoses. If your low on freon the system wont turn on if you full of freon then a low pressure switch or high pressure switch or even the airconditioning pump maybe the solution

freon leak, check to see if compressor is kickin on, look under hood for a/c compressor. the front will move with the pulley if its working, ... if not working its low on freon or low pressure switch is bad,

Hello,Be sure the compressor clutch is cycling. Also, check the orifice tube, evaporator and condensor for blockages. Freon level should be checked with manifold gauges and compared to specs.
Thanks

1998 Town Car A/C Blows Hot Air But Is Charged Up

Hi - There may be 2 separate problems. On my 1991 Lincoln Town Car, there is a Thermal Blower Lockout sensor that disables the heater from blowing until the engine temperature reaches a specific temperature. This way if you have vent or floor settings and 90 degrees set and it is winter, you won't get blasted with cold air. When the vehicle warms up, the TBL circuit enables the climate control to blow the hot air. If you use the flr/def instead of the floor or vent control, the TBL should not prevent the heater from working even with a cold engine. On my car, the TBL went bad and always prevented hot air from blowing on the floor and vent settings, even when the engine was hot. Another thing to check is a thermal limitor resistor. It is designed to cut off the blower at very hot temperatures, except if the blower fan is in the hi setting.

As far as the A/C is concerned, can you verify if the clutch is engaging or not? A rapid cycling of the clutch is an indication of low freon. If you are absolutely sure that you are fully charged on freon, I think there are 2 possible causes: (1) Bad pressure switch on the accumulator is indicating low freon that is telling the compressor not to work; (2) a blocked orifice tube.

compressor or receiver/dryer or condensor may need to be replaced. Further testing will have to be done. Look into your sight glass and see if there is any bubbles in the glass, or if glass is extremely foggy. If so, you may have air in the system. Check to make sure you are getting power to the compressor.

Hot air blowing in car

sounds like your blend door motor has gone bad. this motor controls the blend door in the heater box that allows eather cold or hot air to flow or a mixture of both. replacing this motor is a big job cause the dash must be moved out to get to the motor.
