OIL GAUGE GOES DOWN AT STOPS

I have a 1997 jeep grand cherokee. When i come to a stop the oil pressure gauge drops from normal (half way) down to nothing. Then when I give it gas and go agien it jumps back to the normal spot. I have checked the oil and it is not low. There is no knocking sound coming from the engine.
Can anyone help me out?

It sounds that the sending unit is not
operating well, replace it and go from there.

First, check the actual oil pressure by installing a mechanical gauge on it...Often your sending unit can give false readings. If actual pressure is low, you need to go deeper into the engine to find the cause. (most low pressure conditions are caused by obstructed pump screen or worn engine bearings.) If gauge shows good pressure, change the sending unit.

What causes oil pressure to drop to zero but goes with accelleration

If your oil is full, it's most likely electrical. If it's not electrical, then it's most likely something like a crack in the pickup tube, sucking air if I had to guess.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee start it starts chugging engine lights on oil gauge goes down when i stop and raises when i start going?

From your description it sounds as if the oil pump is going bad and needs to be replaced. Sounds like you are not getting enough oil pressure building up

My oil pressure gauge goes to the H

Not really , when you give it gas it creates higher pil pressure at higher engine speeds, when the engine slows down there is less pressure on the oil.

Oil gauge fluctuates back and forth. sometimes

You'll need to determine if the oil pressure is actually changing, or if the sending unit or gauge is lying to you. Be certain the oil level is up to normal, then check the actual oil pressure with a test gauge. If the pressure varies (drops) at engine idle, perhaps your pressure bypass is defective, or perhaps the oil pump is worn. Testing with a known good pressure gauge should lead you in the right direction.

Oil pressure gauge reads normal when first starts. as it warms up, gauge goes to zero. If I rev engine, gauge goes back to normal.

Two things...when it reads zero, is there any engine noise (tapping or knocking)? After you rev the engine does the pressure read normal at idle and function normally, or does it go back down? Either way, you should not drive the vehicle 'till you have a mechanical gauge (yours is electro-mechanical) put on there and the actual pressure is tested. The condition may be a bad sending unit, a bad bearing or possible obstructed oil pump screen. The repair is obviously different for each one and the price is as well.

The oil pressure gauge keeps dropping down to 0 while i am driving

If you don't hear any ticking or knocking while the pressure gauge drops, the problem is probably a failing "oil pressure sensor". If you do hear a ticking or knocking, the problem is probably a failing "oil pump".
