    Hi Doug Sykes, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? When do you hear the clunking sound? Accelerating, turning, stopping, idling, all the time while you're moving, some other time?

Clunking and creeking neon

It sounds as though you have a c/v joint going out on your Neon. If you intend to repair it yourself, the replacement part is around $40-$50.

Clunking sound in the rear end. When you hit a bump the back end goes all over the road . 2004 endeavor.

sounds like you need new shockers(must be done in pairs)when off, check all rubber bushes/linkages.

My 2005 dodge neon made a clunk noise and then the passenger rear tire locked up. Up until this point it drove fine. Help!

Your problem would appear to be something amiss in the rear brake on the locked wheel. If a wheel sylinder was leaking the brake shoes would become "sticky" and cause the shoes to "lock on" to the drum. Or if the brake was out of adjustment, the assembly could come apart and pieces of it jamb the wheel. This problem is fairly common with drum brakes. You need to have the rear brakes serviced, & checked for fluid or grease on the braking surfaces. All leaks fixed, backing plates cleaned, the wheel cylinders overhauled, & the brake shoes replaced.

My 99 Plymouth Neon made a loud clunking noise and then the rear dirver's side tire locked up. I reversed a bit and it seemed to free the tire but locked up again after a second.

sounds like something came loos in your brakes drum or a wheel baring is faulty it could be the parking brake hanging up that sounds like{ A safety issue and should be Looked at by some one familier with experience}

2003 Dodge Neon 2.0 auto. Driving over bumps in the road I get clunk clunk clunk at the front left area. All rubber mounts, outer tie rods, quick struts are new. Any ideas on the noise? THANKS

hello, only a sugestion but I would have the suspension checked, try pushing that side of your car down firmly and let go straight away. If it bounces 2 to 3 times that is fine, if its slugish this could very well be the problem. I hope this is of some use.

1998 dodge neon front disc brakes

Does your car have rear disc brakes? If so, it is likely a failure of the emergency brake that is inside the rear disc.
