Hy my name is Andreas. I had a problem with my 55 reg Modus today.After i tried to start the engine the idle was fallen down than the engine stopped. When i pushed down the gas pedal the engine sounds good,but after i leave it the engine stops again. Any idea what could be the problem? Many thanks

seems , but can not understand that post lacking periods.
the booster is cracked and sucking vaccum to the engine
..
the brake poster is vacuum powered
but must not leak if does leak the causes and illegall air flow
to the engine main air supply and causes engines to race fast RPM at idle.
now you know why.
even the hose to it can be bad or fell off.
but i bet the booster diaphragm inside is cracked.
the service manual shows the leak down test on boosters all do
.and if it leaks it is bad.

Get a can of MAF cleaner and spray the two little wires on the MAF sensor. If that doesn't help, replace it.

reg codes only work in UK, use real years..... so ROTW can tell.
please, tell what it does good and bad driving, idling , parked, moviing
hot and cold engine, full power from engine on hills.
stalling (it stalls) but when does it stall, under what conditions. hot or cold engine. only at stop lights hot. or>????
when an engine is cold the RPM is very high (iAC device) and it will not stall cold , if it does that is key.
if it never stalls hot. and runs perfect hot say so.
all these, clues build evidence. to what is wrong.
then we do tests.
PS: ever think to get that 60,000 mile (100km) tuneup>> now be it.

you may need the idle adjusted on the carb or you may have a blockage in the carb .

check idle screw touching throttle stop , has it fallen out ? get a mate to start engine and keep it idling and you can set idle ! P...

check for leaking vacuum line. check the timing setting also check idle control senor

Hello when you start the engine in the morning let the engine arrive to its normal temperature,then see if the revs cut to normal idles.better that
