Really bad idea. This will cost you lower fuel mileage, danger of cargo loss. Mythbusters have run tests proving that the aero effects with the tailgate up form a cushion of air in the bed which reduces drag. None of my business I know.
Let the tailgate down and look on the inside of the jamb where the gate closes, should be some screws in there. Those screws will allow you to remove the entire lens and then you can get the bulb out.
you'll have to have unit pumped down by an e.p.a. certified tech,min$35 to remove refrigerant by federal law then remove compressor, is there any way you can just leave it on or is it bad? and just get a smaller dia belt and omit comp pulley.
remove the steering shaft to reach the left ones and go through the wheel well to reach the other side. after shaft removal it may still be easier to go through wheel well on that side too.
I believe it firing order is 1-4-2-3 (where cyclinder #1 is the closest to the fire wall) and your distributer has the plug wires running almost vertically.
1st cylinder = the very bottom
4th cylinder = second from the bottom
2nd cylinder = second from the top
3rd cylinder = the top connection on the distributer.
From the hole the handle sits in.
You have to take the handle on the tailgate off.
There is enough "play" to be able to connect the rods with the handle slightly out of the hole.
