Without knowing any additional information, it sounds as if the timing is off. If the engine didn't run rough before changing the timing belt, the installation is the cause.
Check out the photos below, which show the timing marks for the crankshaft timing and the camshaft. Make sure all marks meet as shown in the photos.
Also, make sure the belt tension is adequate, because if the tension is not up to spec, that could be causing the problem or a separate issue will eventually come up, if the belt slips. It's always best to change the tension and the idler pulley, when doing a timing belt change.
