SOURCE: locating camshaft positioning sensor on 2000 Daewoo Laganza

hi,
it is under the upper timing belt cover between the camshaft gears. According to the manual touching anything related to timing belt requires removing million parts including right front wheel. I suspect this might be an overkill just to remove upper timing belt cover.

So my advice would be to get it done by some mechanic as u will not be able to do it and may damage other parts also.

Thanks!
Sandy

Need timing belt mark diagram for the 2000 2.2 daewoo laganza

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Below are the 2 pictures that should answer your question:

Camshaft:

Crankshaft:

Just note that even with all the timing marks aligned you can still have the ignition timing 180 degrees incorrect. I.e the intake, exhaust and crankshaft can all be in time but the engine will miss-fire back through the intake due to incorrect IGNITION timing.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Laganza wont fire or pulse injectors

Check the timing belt which might be broken--if so, there will be severe valve and piston damage to cope with. If the belt is intact, then you may have a bad crankshaft or camshaft sensor, either of which will cause loss of ignition and injector action. Good luck!

What is the most prevelant repair for Daewoo Laganza 2002?

There is a recall on the camshaft position sensor. that is cause of "engine" light to illuminate. Temp gauges are notoriously erratic, moving from below midpoint to 3/4 and back again in synch with the radio fan deployment. Timing belt breakage is the reason for so many junked daewoos, when the belt breaks, it damages the valves and sometimes the pistons also. Change the belt as required maintenance to be safe
