2009 mercedes C200 wont start. Everthing is working - lights, central locking, doors etc. Instruntpanel lits up when opening the door, but when I insert key and turn, dash lights went dead. Not even a click from starter. Allready change the batteries as well- engin and key.!! Help please!

The door lock itself causes the light to stay on. Not cheap to replace.

Sounds like the immobiliser needs to be reset or the key reprogrammed as there is a mismatch somewhere.
A good mechanic or your local Mercedes dealer can sort this out for you

if doors are locked go get a mechanical door tool to open from outside.. parts store rents these..or use a coathangar bent to reach the door lock or call the police to unlock your car.. they carry the same tool and will open your door with proof of ownership..

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL FROM INSIDE THE CAR EVEN WITH DOOR SHUT. IT IS NO FUN BUT IT CAN BE DONE

do you mean the drivers door won't unlock or lock ? does your spare key work ? does it work from the switch inside the vehicle ? does the little red light flash on the key ?

hi, if any doors, boot or bonnet is open it will not lock. there are SWITCHES that has to be set.for the system to recognize it is closed. please check all openings even windows. ONLY DO THIS IF.if the BATTERY HAS BEEN TAKEN OFF OR BATTERY HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. the SYSTEM MAY NEED RESETTING. the battery NEGATIVE lead needs to be taken OFF and place the NEGATIVE LEAD ON THE TERMINAL (A NOISE WILL BE HEARD), the ALARM and CENTRAL LOCKING SHOULD BE RESET, if the ALARM DO'NT SOUND put the lead ON and OFF a FEW TIMES. CLAMP THE BATTERY LEAD CONNECTION TIGHT and press the ALARM BUTTON OFF and retry locking SYSTEM. this will work if everything is O. K. gerry

2009 right. This needs to go back to the dealer. Everything is computer related. Only a qualified volve tech should look at this. Everything is still covered under warrenty

Could it be the key just needs re-coding? maybe you are worrying to much as £177 would be about right as that would need coding etc., Try phoning your local Merc dealer or take the key and V5 to them for coding (Hopefully)

Most likely you have a leak in the system. Start at the pump, removing lines to see where you have vacuum and where you don't.
