My Peugeot 307 HDI used to de celerate on long journeys and then when the engine was turned off for a minute it was ok. Now it barely accelerates from start even with a cold engine. It feels like the car is being held back. It has not long had a service and they said they cleaned the pollen filter. I was told that was the reason the car kept slowing down on long journeys but even after the service nothing has changed!
Can someone shed some light on this please?
Many thanks in advance
Dusty
The electrovalve that controls the turbo waste gate needs to be changed it costs around £40. It is located on the front lower part of the engine block. I have done lots of them they are a common fault after about 50000 miles.
I don't know either diesel or petrol but most common things you should check are
fuel filter if it is blocked
check air filter turbo filter as well and if possible clean it.
Change engine oil along with oil filter according to manufacturer's recommendation.
If nothing happend then take it to a garage and let it diagnosed and let them check the engine pressure (if any seal is leaking).
In worst case the hdi pressure is not high enough to gain the desired result (may be hdi pump and/or injectors problem).
