On the front-- you remove the lamp assy
2 screws on top, under the plastic rad cover
1 down really low in back of lamp housing

On the back--- you remove 3 nuts in trunk, and the tail light housing

Head lamp is coming as a sealed unit.so you can replaced as a assembly.

There are three flat head srews on the head lamp housing under the hood you have to remove all three then the lense housing is easily removed and the actual lamp is twist locked losen twist lock lefty lose tighty right
and the head lite is a plug in type remove old one istal new one and presto follow the rest in reverse.

1. Make sure headlamp is off and open hood.
2. Taurus model years 1990-1999: you must remove the whole headlamp to replace the bulb. Not a horrible task. Just annoying.
3. Facing the driver's side headlamp, and looking at the headlamp itself, at clock positions 8, 11 and 1 are the headlight housing screws. They all look the same. Using a 10mm socket wrench, remove these 3 screws and set them aside.
4. Just to the right of the "11 o'clock" housing screw is a bolt (same hexagonal 10mm sized top as the housing screws). This just needs a few turns to loosen it.
5. Gently pull the whole headlight forward. Now you can get at the bulb.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the bulb. Now the headlamp is free to work with. Remove the bulb, replace with a new bulb, make sure the bulb housing cylinder is in place and reconnect the electical.
7. Place headlamp back into position. Line up screw holes. Tighten the bolt. Replace housing screws and tighten.
8. Passenger side headlamp is mirror image of driver's side. Screws at 11, 1 and 4 o'clock positions. Bolt should be to the left of the "1 o'clock" housing screw.

serjoijr: To replace the bulb, you must remove the tail lamp housing.
Open the tailgate. There are two screws which retain the lamp housing to the body. You can see them when you open the tail gate, One is near the top and one is near the bottom. They are a phillips head type screw.
Remove both screws and pull the lamp housing directly backwards. DO NOT TWIST IT TO THE SIDE! The housing has a pin on the opposite side which interlocks with the body, keeping it in place on that side.
Once you have pulled the housing away from the body, you will see the lamp sockets and wiring harness. These sockets usually rotate to one side or another to interlock with the housing. Once the socket is removed, you can replace the bulb and return the housing back to the original spot.

Open the hood and release the spring clip on the head lamp housing found inside the hood compartment to the rear of the headlight housing. Pull the entire headlamp housing out by grasping on the edges where the rubber gasket meets the hood. Extract the old bulf from the rear of the housing and insert a new lamp. Re-insert the housing into the fender well, and reclamp the latch spring.

Open hood. Unplug wiring on back of head lamp. Pull off rubber boot on back of head lamp. Unlock clamp that holds light bulb in. Replace bulb. Clamp bulb down. Replace rubber boot. Plug in bulb.

open hood and on the very top of head lamp housing there are two L shaped rods that push down to hold lamp assembly in turn rods ad remove,Lamp assembly pulls out and headlight can be accessed.
