Dear Lourdes ,go to parts store and get oil for car , and filter for car and a filter wrench that fits filter, raise car so you can under it ,remove drain plug from oil pan in to a container that can be used for recycling and let oil drain avg10 min or so replace drain plug and tighten , use filter wrench to remove filter (unscrewing it ,not over tightening) it ,take new filter put alight film of oil on rubber seal of filter ,put it back on motor ,(not over tighten or under tightening ), lower car and fill motor with proper type of oil and fill to proper level using dipstick to check level,. start and run motor for a few min. then shut off and wait a few min . for oil to return back into oil pan and recheck oil level to be sure it is at proper level .

You only need a few. You need a wrench or socket that fits the oil pan drain plug. Car makers have used all sizes of drain plugs, don't know Saturn's, anywhere from 13 millimeter to 19 millimeter size wrench or socket. One of them will fit yours. So one wrench (when you find the right one) and you will need a drain pan to catch the oil. Next you will need an oil filter wrench or tool. There are several types and sizes-when you buy the new oil filter you can get the filter remover that fits your filter . A parts person should be able to help you select the right one. Also buy a small funnel to pour new oil into the engine .And don't forget to have a few rags handy to clean up spills and wipe off areas. That's about all that is normally required.
you need to buy first the optimal oil filter to your car dont use a similar then take out the screw of the carter with a wrench, but first take out the cap was in the surface of the motor the one has de label OIL is uses to fill the motor because this help to empty the liquid so quik and put in the floor a recipent for the uslees oil to dispose (use a jack preferably to this action), and continue to take out the oil filter, always be in the back of the motor and you need to taken out by down near of the floor. and when the motor will empty of oil, put em again the screw in the carter and the new filter for this use the strenght of your hands only (now you can down the jack), and fullfill the motor with 4 or 4 and a half liters (oil a course) better 20w-50w and put the surfece cap of the motor, and thats it you chane your self the oil of your car.
oil catch pan hydraulic cat and ratchet with metric sockets adjustable filter rachet lift car front get on under with oil pan rachets and on the motors side of the car you'll find a bolt on the crank pan just a lonley screw on the bottom of a pan close to where your under loosen screw first then put oil pan under try and loosen screw slowly so when it lets go you can cntrol the flow a little so the oil pan can be put in the proper place to catch the oil let it empty till there is nothing but droplets return screw and tighten back on do not over do it the treads on the pan can be harmed if you over tighten then locate filter put oild pan under filter loosen and the same way as the screw do with the fiter . Before putting in new filter on put some fresh oil on the rubber ring and inside just a little so it goes on smooth your finished under the car now go up top hood open you can put car down by now find oil cap and fill in oil
ECOTec 2.4 Liter engine (and all ECOTec engine blocks in 4 cylinder sizes) have a cartridge type oil filter housing on the front of the block, driver's side of the vehicle.
The cap must be removed with a wrench, and the filter pulled out, then the new one put in. Now is usually a good time to replace the O-ring on the cap.
first remove the oil filter, use a little oil put around gasket of new one screw filter back on as tight as you can by hand then use filter wrench and turn 1/4 trun more, now remove the oil drain plug on bottom of oil pan let oil drain until you see just a little stream, now put drain plug back on and tighten, just alittle dont go crazy tightening, now fill the oil to level put 4 qts and check may use 5 or 6 check your manually or use the dip stick, also grease frt end if you have a grease gun. good luck hope this helps.
If you have never changed your oil before use care:
0.) Safely Jack up vechile
1.) remove oil filler cap
2.) remove oil drain plug on oil pan
3.) Let oil drain into a container
4.) Flush a quart of through with the drain plug removed to get any deposits out.
5.) remove and drain oil filter
6.) install new oil filter(make sure you put some oil on the filters gasket by hand)
7.)Install oil drain plug
8.) Re-fill with oil
9.) Put oil filler cap back on
Hope this helps and again use with care if you have never turned a wrench before, people get hurt easily by being careless while working under a car.
