There is a short in your fuse somewhere. Also I highly recommend that you check GM site for recalls on the 2002 cadillac deville. It can be cover by the dealer. If not i would contact GM customer service and explain the problem. They may have a solution for you. Also I suggest find a local good and honest repair shop. These are the safest solution for a do it yourselfer. I not sure of your level of expertise on cars. I do a lot of my own repairs and some electrical problems require a lot of time to fix yourself. Do you work full time ?. You need to set a weekend to the repair. Also check youtube for step by step instructions.

Unhook the wire harness connector to the seat where is comes out of the carpet. Put a fuse in and see if it still blows or sparks. If it does not, you will know the short circuit is in the seat.
If the problem is in the seat, remove the seat and check to see where the wire is bare and shorting out.
Good luck

Sounds like you have a wire shorted or componant. Take the fuse out and put a test light across the fuse holder this will take up the resistance in the circuit, the light will glow. Take hold of the wires and wiggle them and see if the light flickers or goes out if so you are close to the short. If this don't produce anything unplug componants in the curcit and see if the light goes out. Hope this helps. Good luck.

You've obviously got a short either in the wiring to the seat motor or in the motor itself.
Probably the wiring between the switch and the motor. A common cause is rust eaten into the insulation.

You have a short circuit in your seat. It will possibly catch fire if you keep doing that. The problem is probably a frayed supply line touching metal in the seat attached to the body (ground). You need an expert auto electrician to fix it.

SOURCE: Headrest removal

When you pull it up all the way, you should see a very small hole at the base of the rod. Poke a small nail in there and that will release the catch.

SOURCE: 1999 Cadillac Deville Driver side power seat not working

No fuse. These seats are protected with relays and a seat module. The module is under the drivers seat. There are 3 connectors and it would be hard to check all these wires for power to the motors.First look under the seat and make sure none of the connectors came apart under the seat by something that might have been left or rolled under it.The 2 main ones you can check are the connector 2 terminal C and connector 3 terminal A.C is a black wire which is ground and A is a red wire which is the feed power wire.Connector 2 is green and 3 is black. If the ground and power wires are good then you could have a bad drivers seat module. What I would do is go to the salvage yard and find a used module to try.Good luck.

SOURCE: HOW DO YOU CAHNGE THE THERMOSTAT ON 2002 CADILLAC DEVILLE

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line. It's job is to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank, this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage. The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side to near the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

2002 cadillac deville where's the fuse box in the car

Hello jayv.

There are 2 in the 2002 Deville.

This one in the diagram below under the hood.

kiltylake_154.gif

And this one under the rear seat on the right side.

kiltylake_155.gif

Amazing where they put things on cars now.
You will also find the battery under the rear seat. It may be a good time to check the terminals for corrosion while you are checking the fuses.
If you need further help with this, please ask me here, be glad to help.
Thank you for using FixYa.
