SOURCE: Check Engine Light, plus Cruise control indicator Light both on!!

cruise light automatically comes on when there is a malfunction that causes c.e.l to illuminate, this occurs because your accelerator is electronically controled

SOURCE: check engine light, cruise control light flashing,

Take the car to Autozone or similar business for a free code read with a scanner. Depending on what turns up, they will be happy to sell you any needed parts.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Subaru Forester. Check engine light

Hi

Have the EGR valve checked on the car, also you can remove this yourself and try cleaning it with carb cleaner. they cost about £180 or $280 approx. they do normally trigger these lights.

Hope this helps.
Regards

Dan

p.s have the air mass sensor checked also.

Check engine light on traction control light on cruise light blinking whats wrong?

When you have a check engine light come on, the traction control light and the cruise lights both come on as well. You need to have the codes checked with a scanner. There most likely isn't a problem with the traction control or cruise systems, the lights turn on because those systems work together with the engine management system or PCM. When there is an engine problem that sets a code that turns on the check engine light, it automatically disables the cruise control and traction control for safety reasons. Because the last thing you want is to have an issue with traction control and/or cruise control if your engine is having an issue, which is why they are disabled. The most common problem that turns on the check engine light is a loose, cross-threaded, or snug but not tight enough fuel filler cap. Subaru recommends three clicks of the cap to be considered tight. Also, any parts store can and will check and/or clear codes for free. I hope this info helps!

What is check engine and trac off light on mean

check engine light comes on when the computer detects a problem with the engine drivability and sets a code for what may be causing the problem that set the light on. the traction control off light comes on when the abs system detects a problem of a wheel or sensor that has lost communication with the system either through the electronics or through a wheel spin. this system works and is monitored by the abs system module(computer).

On the 2011 silverado 1500 what causes the check engine light to come on simultaneously with the traction control light(and stays on),then the warnings flash first"service traction control", then,"ser

I know this sounds unrelated but, reset the light and tighten down the gas cap, or buy another gas cap.

I just helped a friend fix his truck that did everything you have stated. (However his was a Toyota)

Traction control light and vsc light on,i was told it could be a gas cap not being tightened enough,is this true

When the lights come on a fault is stored in the computer, you will need to read this fault to determine the cause.

Keep in mind that you need to have the codes pulled for the check engine lamp. Anytime a fault is detected and the check engine lamp comes on then both the VSC and Traction control systems are disabled/shut down by the computer as a "fail-safe" function.

Hope helps.

Took 800 mile trip

The ABS and traction control are ususally one in the same and will require a mechanic with special tools to diagnose. You can check to make sure the brake pads are not worn out (it is about time to replace them on this year car) that the wheel sensor wires are in one piece and amke sure the brake fluid is changed (This needs to be done every 24,000 miles on any car). As for the Check Engine light, you'll need a scanner to pull the code, but check the gas cap as this is the most usual culprit. We have a 2004 Grand Am (very similar to the Alero, but without the traction or ABS) and the only time the Engine light came on was when the cap was loose.
