My bmw 318 ran out of petrol now it wont start i have changed fuel filter

Leave well alone ,you have to lift seat and remove the whole unit ,so unless car if full of water leave well alone .its a gauze filter on the bottom of the unit ...

no gas, weak battery, crankshaft or camshaft sensor is bad, fuel pump bad, fuel pump relay or fuse is bad, haven't pushed clutch down far enough(rug caught underneath), fuel filter clogged, ignition coils bad. You need to give a hint as to what you have tried. Does it crank but not start/ Does it simply click(starter) and not crank/

You can use bmw icom to do the troubleshooting

Did you check the fuel pump and fuel filter? It could be that the fuel pump is bad or the fuel filter is clogged.

you have probably got a blockage in either the fuel filter or carb,so first check filter,if ok check carb.take fuel line of carb turn engine over see if fuel comes out if it does then filter ok if not change filter,

MAYBE CHECK THE ELECTRIC COIL,CHANGE FUEL FILTER

The sending unit on the pump is failing or the connections are coroded, lift up rear seat and verify the connections.

Have you checked to see if it's getting fuel? try shooting some starting fluid into the intake if it tries starting then you have a plugged fuel filter or fuel pump.

change your fuel filter if it does'nt work check that your fuel pressure is ok if not check that all the plugs on your air intake is all good and pluged in properly

hi its probably dragged sh#t from your tank, is your petrol pump external if so,so is the fuel filter. change it, its easier than trying to flush it. once thats done. foot on excelerator and turn over if problem solved car will start within 20 seconds max. if however its air locked, crack the fuel line open at the injectors and turn over with some one watching for petrol to come through as soon as it does stop and tighten up injectors, car should then start, if it still doesnt start it could be muck actually in your in injectors, they will need taking out and cleaning,,,,but we will get to that if all others fail, please let me know what happens, i hope this helps
