Engine light is on for 1985 olds cutlass supreme v6. When weather is hot I get a cutting out of ignition during normal driving. I replaced coil but still have problem. What code reader do I need to search for? Can I do it without a scanner?

No. Thankfully, such an abomination has never been ...well, no doubt some idiot somewhere has actually done it. The only similarity between GM and Ford cars is concept and powertrain layout. Little if anything is compatible or interchangeable between them. Ditch the supreme and find a ford car needing the exact same engine as yours.

The fuel pump is located on the passenger side of the engine down low, you will see a line going into it and a line going out of it to the carb and 2 bolts hold it to the engine.
