I took the engine and automatic trans out of my 88 prelude 2.0si overhauled my engine and did not touch my trans. when i put both back in my car the engine works great but my trans wont go into reverse unless i unplug my sports gear i have reverse again but not my sports gear. i can unplug my sports gear and plug it back in and i have all my gears, they don't shift properly but after i turn my car off then back on i lose by reverse again. HELP ME PLEASE.

it's the slave cylinder, right on front of engine and you can see it move when engaging clutch. Cost me about $15 @ schucks

Sounds like the car is just slipping out of gear. Keep your hand on the shifter when you back up next time. See if you can feel the shifter move when the car comes out of gear. If the shifter moves up when it happens keep pressure on the shifter holding it back like you dont want it to move forward. And of course if the shifter moves back when it comes out of gear, put forward pressure on the shifter so it doesnt slip out. This might work for now but but i know i wouldnt want to spen 700 for that ****. Let me know how it goes.

the neutral safty switch tells the comp. what gear is in. when its not working the light wont move and the car will not go threw the gears prop. the switch is nown to go out. it is located on the tranny or down under the shifter

I took a look around online & found a website.
Per site says Code 16 is a Fuel Injector & 23 is a Knock Sensor.
