In order to pull the transmission on a honda pilot it all comes out from the bottom. You must remove the front suspension all the engine harness, pipes and hoses unbolt the suspension subframe bolts and drop the whole thing at one time. Use a suspension lift designed for this or you could drop it and loose it.

For better understanding, you can watch a video related to it on Youtube.
However, the 2007 honda pilot transmission filter is located above the transmission pan.

I have 05 honda pilot with a bad transmission what other type of transmission would fit

Typical Repair Cost:$4,333.00 that´s what I could find about many other problems like yours in the same model/year. You can also try to find an used(crashed cars) transmission in good shape for your car. Good luck

Transmission fluid in radiator & running out radiator overflow bottle

The transmission cooler is located inside the radiator on pilots, they are notorious for rotting out and leaking ATF into the radiator and vice versa. This wil quickly lead to your transmission seals failing and destroying your transmission. Happened to my wife's pilot and got Honda to split the bill

My 2003 honda pilot is difficult to shift into drive

There could be a number of issues with a Honda Pilot not shifting into drive. In fact, I had this problem with my 2003 Honda Pilot two weeks ago and had to replace my transmission. More than 100,000 2003 Honda Pilots were recalled in 2004 because of a transmission problem -- was your Honda part of that recall? If so, Honda may help you with some of the costs.

If the problem is not with the transmission, I suggest making sure that your steering column is not locked. You will also notice that on the top of the steering column is a small plate. If you remove the plate and press down with a coin, you can unlock the steering column, enabling you to shift into drive.

Hopefully these solutions will help...but be sure to see your auto service shop for more details on your situation.

2005 Honda Pilot 75,000 transmission fluid change

The bottom pan comes off and there is a pan filter that is contained in this assy. It drains from there it cannot be pumped out. They simply remove the pan and let it drain, only about 60% of the fluid actually drains out but the filter is what is important to replace to lengthen the trani life. I wouldn'ty pay more than 100-150 bucks tops for this transmission maintenance.(although it is well worth it) Good Luck
