Engine check light not coming on when the ignition switch is on on position without engine runing

Could be a fuse or maybe needs the bulb or led replacing, maybe a dashboard circuit board fault or wiring fault or even a problem with the engine management ECU.

Needs checking out starting with a fuse check and a fault code reading to check whether the system is alive or not. After that it would be advisable to have a repair manual and wiring diagram to hand...

Could my engine be gone it my car stopped and engine light came on?

If the check engine light has illuminated then you need to have the fault codes read from the OBD to know exactly what the cause is! There could be a whole host of reasons for this light coming on.

Skoda superb (2011) engine fault warning random occurrance. Switching engine off and on again clears fault until next random occurrance. Solution?

Sounds like a hard code in PCM, needs scanner to read code and after repair clear it, shouldn't come back after repair.

Yellow led engine light illuminated..why

it lights up because the CPU has recorded a fault that needs urgent attention. stop check oil and coolant levels. have a fault code reading done and fix the fault. To continue driving will eventually place the engine in low power mode or will cause big dollar repairs.

Service engine soon light what repairs might i need?

First, check if this warning is a SERVICE SOON or a CHECK ENGINE light. First just is a reminder that you need check or change fluids, filters and periodical maintenance. Check engine light measn that some fault code is detected and some sensor is sending this signal to the coputer car, you will need scanned the computer car with OBD scanner reader tool in order to know exactly what is the fault code number stored there.

Hope this helps.

Engine warning light

Hello and welcome to
turned on by the systems computer it is to alert you to the fact that the computer module has detected a fault in the systems operation, this can be the engine, the emissions system or the transmission. What must be done now is to have the system scanned for fault codes, these are called OBD2 fault codes, then diagnostics are performed to determine the cause of the fault codes and repair made based on the diagnostics performed.

Is the check engine light considered to be a sensor? My car failed smog due to sensor lights, do i have to go to a dealer to have the problem resolved, or can i do it myself

your car failed because they wont pass you until the light has been reset. the check engine light means the computer detected a fault in a sensor or system that may need"ll need access to a shop or someone who has an obdII diagostic reader and see what was might get lucky and can have the fault reset. If there is a true failure in the system the light will come back on again and repair will be needed. usually the code will tell you which component or sensor has failed. if you like you can purchase one of these devices from an Autoparts store for around $100..these more expensive models are preferred because they not only will reset the fault but will list the code and tell you exactly which sensor has failed... that is if your car has an obdII type system diagnostic connector; usually located under the drivers steering column.
