Remote key doesn't lock or open drivers side door

Try this

2004 XL7

1. Remove key from ignition switch.

2. Close all doors.

3. Open drivers door

4. Insert key and turn to ON position and within 10 seconds turn
key off and remove key.

5. Within 20 seconds Close and open drivers door 3 times.

6. Insert key and turn to ON position and within 10 seconds turn
key off and remove key.

7. Locks should now lock and unlock automatically to confirm you
have entered programming mode.

8. Press the UNLOCK button on remote and locks should cycle to
confirm programming.

9. Repeat step 8 on each additional remote.

10. Exit vehicle with keys and remote, close door test remote(s)

You maybe need to replace the battery in your remote. Most of them are available at any parts store.

1) Key turns but dose not unlock door. This means that the rod that goes to the back of the lock has came off. This also means that is the reason door is not unlocking with the remote as it pops the lock rod inside the door which pushes the lock open.
2) Key does not turn lock at all but works passengers side door. This means that the locks has been changed in the door, but that doesn't sound like the problem as you say the remote doesn't open the drivers side door so more than likely the rod has came off the back of the lock

The problem is the Door lock actuators and when I went to the dealer they want $467.90 to fix just my driver's side door, but after almost having a heart-attack from the dealer's estimate, I checked on ebay and found a Kit to fix the door lock for only $59 so i ordered one kit (shipping was super fast) it came with very easy instructions on how to install the kit, so I installed about 4-months ago in under 1HR and now everything is Back to normal, I can unlock/Lock using my original OEM key fob and also using the power switch on the door, so everything work as from factory ( no need for aftermarket alarm or remote) ... !!!! here is a link of the kit that I purchased. Try using the Keyless Entry Pad

If that won't open the drivers door,
then you will need a scan tool, to see
if it can comunicate with the DDM -
Drivers Door Module.

That may be a possible problem, if
everything else works

need to pull door panel off there is a cable that op. the window they get twisted in motor poss. need window motor..

sounds like the solenoid that locks and unlocks is bad or the rod came off of the linkage in the door

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING


Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!
