Have the wheel alignment checked for correct camber and toe in- toe out adjustment. Check condition of wheel bearings and adjustment. .Check the front end suspension for wear

SOURCE: battery removal on a 2004 GMC Envoy

The battery is on the right side behind the fuse box. You need a metric set to undo the 3 screws. Theres one that attaches to the body, one to the bar that goes along the top, and theres one on the left side below the vacuum hose and air induction. After you've taken out those three, you should lift the whole thing out(battery and shroud) together. It's hard to take the shroud off before you lift the battery out. After that, you have to pry the shoud off the battery. The two terminals in the back make it hard. Then just go to any auto parts store and they'll give you a new one.

The tools are under the second row seats. The hole for the spare tire lowering mech. is above the rear bumper when you lift the tail gate. Put the proper tool down the hole, turn counter clockwise, lowers spare. Reverse to bring up.

SOURCE: cd not ajection

I have the same problem. What I did to fix it, as I dont want to pay for a new one, is use a slotted screwdriver. if you insert it in the player you will notice to little tabs that are present and up, one on the left and one on the right. You can use your screwdriver to push the tab down and then hit the eject button. It will now eject the CD. Not sure why it does this, but none the less I found this to work 100% of the time.

When I switch my 2005 envoy xl into all whell drive and then drive, when I get out it smells like burnt rubber. It does not smell like that when in 2wd. What could it be?

You can't use 4 wheel on dry or even wet pavement. It must be snow dirt gravel or mud. Pavement will just burn up your tires because the front Axel pulls faster than the rear. When you have good grip there is a friction fight between front and rear tires.

Shock suspension

Could be the exhaust system hitting on something when the suspension moves. Inspect under the car and look for shiny spots that are making contact.

My 2006 gmc envoy is having problems with the four wheel drive...when its in 4wd and I turn right or left..its like the brakes are locking up or something is preventing my truck from moving....does anyone...

never use 4wd on dry pavement even just wet pavement can cause this. 4wd is for only snowy or slippery conditions

unless this is automatic 4wd or awd than u have a problem id suggest you find a forum for youre vehicle and post it there find one by googleing gmc envoy forums or chevy trailblazer forums as they are the same thing

Humming noise in 2004 envoy sounds like tire hum but isn't

Could it be a rear wheel bearing? Also check the condition of the tires, severe cupping can make a heck of a noise.

2004 GMC Envoy- Whenever the heater is turned on the RPM drops to about 500RPM and sometimes dies. What could be causing this problem?

The throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean.

Need tires for gmc envoy 2004

Get Michelins. You will never go back to other tires.
Consider LT designation and your vehicle will handle tons better. LT has more sidewall strength. Also, run tires at 4 to 6 lbs less than full inflation listed ON THE TIRE.
The stronger sidewall will help the feeling of wanting to tip during cornering... Most people do not notice, but enthusiasts do. Makes a much better handling vehicle.

Replaced coolant sensor on my 2004 GMC Envoy XL 6 cylinder. I had to disconnect the battery and alternator. All was reinstalled, truck runs fine but when I turn on the a/c the truck turns off and idles...

Sounds like ac compressor is dragging. It might be that rpm is to low also.Step on the accelarator and if you have a tach bring rpm up to 700 to 800 in drive which is were it should run with ac on. With ac off rpm should read around 600 in drive.
