Start by checking all of the fuses and all of the fusible link wires, and you will know a fusible link wire when you find one because they will stretch similar to a rubber band. Fusible link wires are usually located at the fuse/relay junction box in the engine compartment, or at the starter solenoid, or sometimes at the fire-wall. Also check the fuse/relay junction box for any PAL type of fusible links.

What do i do after installing starter and still no start but al other elec works and battery good? Could I have put wires to starter on backwards? 1994 GMC Suburban 1500.

generally the cables to the starter posts and the lengths of the wires help you put them on correctly, so i doubt that is the issue. why did you replace starter in the first place? what were the symptoms exactly?

Hooked battery ou backward want crank

Ok. You have conflicting statements here. You say it won't crank. That is supposed to mean that the engine will not spin when the ignition switch is turned. Cranks but won't start sounds more like what you are getting at from the second statement that spraying gas in cause the engine to "hit" as you say. Am I to understand that you hooked the battery up backwards? If you did I'm very surprised you got that much to work. By your lack of knowledge of standard mechanic terminology, you come across as one who does not normally work on vehicles. I don't know what to tell you, but if you are careless (or ignorant) enough to hook the battery up backwards, the level of work that will be required to repair the electrical damage done by that act is most likely beyond your ability to execute. Take your car to a good mechanic or better yet, and auto electric service center.

I have a 1990 Chevy Caprice. I just put a new starter on it and now the whole car wont start. the lights wont come on or anything. I charged the battery but nothing happened.

I would make absolutely sure that I did not hook the battery up backwards, not uncommon.
And in addition to the high current thick cable from the positive terminal to the starter there
is the small connector to the relay on top. Easy to forget that also.

If you hooked the battery up backwards you now need another car as the wiring harness is cooked.

Where is the starter located on a 1994 350 Chevy Blazer Full Size, 4x4, V8 5.7?

it's under the vehicle, should ge on the passengers' side, next to the oil pan. If you follow the positive battery cable, it'll lead you right to it.

1994 Chevi Lumina APV (van)

If you havent replaced the battery I would start there. If the battery has a dead cell in it then it will effectively remove the charge that your alternator is putting out causing your vehicle to stop running because it has no power. I would jump start the car without the battery hook up and remove the cables and see if it runs that way. If it does you have a bad battery.

1994 chevy cheyenne with small 6 cyl. want a 350 carb

As far as fitting in the truck, no problem. Yes you will need a new computer. Your best bet would be to find a salvage truck with a 350, get the engine & the computer from the same vehicle. Most of the sensors are the same although, best case scenario is to get a complete assembly out of a salvage vehicle, including all the sensors. Motor mounts are slightly different, but you can pick those up at a parts store.

If you use a motor with a carb, you won't be able to hook up all the necessary sensors and this will cause your Check Engine light to come on at the very least, and possibly interfere with some or all of your gauges. (Remember, everything is tied together...including the gauges)

Hope this helps.
