Sounds like a fuel system bleed down problem . Inside the fuel pump is a check valve that suppose to keep fuel pressure in the fuel lines ,injector fuel rail's etc.... when this check valve is bad it allows fuel to drain back into the gas tank . This could be your problem , but without testing this is just a guess . Consider taking it to a qualified repair shop an have it tested ,or buy a fuel pressure tester an check it yourself . Video's on youtube showing how to do it .
41-47 PSI (Pounds per Square Inch)Position the ignition switch and the A/C system in theoff position. Install a fuel pressure gauge to thevehicles fuel rail or fuel pressure test port.Confirm that no leaks are present, and visuallyverify the PSI reading on the gauge with the ignitionin the on position.
there should be a spot either on the fuel rail or fuel line where you can unscrew a cap and screw on a gauge so when you turn the key on and the fuel pump kicks on you can see how much pressure its putting out find out what the pressure is supposed to be an see if yours is weak.
Had friend put OBD diagnostics to it and error code indicated fuel pump ????? No code indicates replacing any part . Indicates testing ! pressure and flow testing , voltage drop testing the electrical circuit etc... There is a check valve in the fuel pump assembly that is suppose to keep pressure in the fuel lines an fuel rail . When the check valve goes bad allows fuel to drain back into the tank. Try turn the key on an off a few times to build up pressure . The PCM energizes the fuel pump relay for two seconds at key on .
The best way to test this is to put a fuel pressure gauge and an inline spark tester on the car. Then when you try to start it see if it has the fuel pressure it is supposed to have and see that the spark plugs are firing.
Most likely one of these systems are not working correctly. This test will help you determine which one it is.
I suppose that you have run a fuel pressure test, but you did not post what the fuel pressure reading was. Also, what size the motor is and if it is gas or diesel.
make sure to have a fuel pressure test done to it, it must to have a least 35 psi of pressure, also see if car is equiped with map sensor if it does unplug sensor and try to start the car, if start replace map sensor
