A Bronco tailgate comes off the same as a regular pickup truck. Open the tailgate and remove the cables from both sides. Lift up the passenger side of the tailgate and then slide the driver side towards the passenger side.

SOURCE: remove dashboard on a 88 ford bronco 2

You don't need to remove the dash. Look under the dash where the switch is located. on the side of the switch you will see a small button to push in. While pushing in on the button pull the knob as though you were going to turn the lights on. At this time the stem should release from the switch. Undo the bezel and drop the switch down so you can see to unplug the wires. Replace wires to new switch and reverse the procedure to install. You don't need to push the button in when replacing the stem.

SOURCE: replace motor on tailgate window on a 1987 ford bronco

You will likely have to remove the panel from the inside with the window up. Once you have the panel off I would try to have some one hold down on the switch while you tap the motor with a hammer. Of course make sure the latches are all the way closed as if the door is not closed all the way the window will not roll down as it has safety switches to keep this from happening.

If you still can not get it down then you will need to unbolt the regulator and let it down that way.

SOURCE: Bronco rear window was being rolled up with a key

The electric key switch is next to the key cylinder on the rear door. You can see it easily with the window down and weatherstripping pulled out. The wiring may have become chaffed with the window over the years or the switch corroded in the contact points inside.

Have a 1992 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer Tailgate window motor problem

I looked at my schematics, and they don't show a relay. They do, however, show two ground wires coming out of the tailgate window switch. There is a ground wire for the "up" side of the switch, and a ground wire for the "down"side. These would be color-coded black, and I think that it is worth checking to make sure you don't have a corroded /broken ground running from the tailgate switch. If only one grounding wire was broken, the window would operate in only one direction. Both dash and tailgate switches share the same wiring circuit, and these wires are "hot" all the time. It's normal when you get both sides of the motor leads at 12VDC when neither switch is activated. These switches function by switching off one of the two motor leads, and connecting it to ground, thus allowing power to flow thru the motor windings. Of course, reversing the polarity on a DC motor will change the direction of rotation, so changing which black lead is switched to ground gives the up or down direction to the motor.. since you can read schematics, you might check out ebay for a used Haynes manual cheap. hope this helps

How do you remove the rear window motor in the tailgate of my 89 ford bronco. I took off the inside panel to be able to see the inside but from there don't see the motor and how to get further into the...

there is about 3 rivets that you have to cut off, that holds the window motor and regulator to the tailgate, then shift the window back and forth to get the track slides to slide out then pull the window out slowly,it will catch when its almost out so be careful.

Tailgate window doesnt work

It could be several things. Make sure the tailgate is latched all the way. The motor could be bad. remove the tailgate cover inside the truck. use a test light and have someone press the up and down button while checking for power at the motor wiring. If you have power going to motor on both sides ,the motor is bad. If you do not have power check for broken wiring or bad switches.

Rearwindow/ door

if there are no broken wires inside the tailgate try lubing the latches with WD40 and open and close the tailgate several times. If the latches are properly closed on both sides the window will not work

Tailgate window motor

You must detrim the tailgate and then remove the glass and then the entire regulator assembly must be pulled to change out the motor.
