Reverse pops out if im backing up my driveway.I took it to a shop they said i might have to get a new or secondhand gear box.I've done a bit of looking around and another guy who had the same problem said his tranny guy said he can replace reverse without buying a new tranny, Just wanna know if this is true.
SOURCE: how to remove transmission , how to replace reverse gear?
Are you sure that it is gone? make sure the all the bushing on the transmission are good it maybe that it is not able to go all the way in gear. If you do need to take it out get a good manual "Bentley" are the best it will show you the inside of the transmission too. Haynes are also good but not for working on the transmission it self
SOURCE: reverse gear pops out
Umm crazy people in here! First things I would check engine mounts and the alignment and condition of the shift linkage The last two are more likley Find a Good vw garage in your town one with a good rep. They would know how to check it out correctly
SOURCE: no reverse gear
This question should be deleted. Aside from the obvious illiteration, there is nothing in the known universe that could be stuck in an oil filter that could cause the transmission to fail, nor could the oil pressure. What most likely happened is someone did a neutral drop and blew a solenoid in the transmission. Rebuild/replace transmission, or drive without it.
