If you aren't a pretty good shade tree mechanic I don't recommend you try it. You need a seal removal tool and if you have to be very careful not to scratch the crankshaft when removing the seal. If you have had the head replaced lately I can tell you that you may have the head gasket on wrong causing the pressure to build up at the crank seal! You have to remove the timing belt and belt gear to get to the seal.

Leaking crank seal.

cam and crank seals should be replaced with the second timing belt change along with idler pulleys and water pump as the extra labour and cost is minimal compared to doing the job twice, but that comes down to the professionalism of the person working on the vehicle, you should atleast be educated in the fact so you can make a decision at the time of belt replacement
