SOURCE: why the heater motor/blower control knob works

Very common when heater blower motor "Resistor" goes bad. In most cases they are either located under hood on firewall, passenger side, or under dash, passenger side, near blower motor. If I can confirm on location of it, I'll get back to you.

SOURCE: blower motor inspection

The blower motor is under the passenger side of the dash. I'm not real sure, but you might have to remove the glove box to get at it.

SOURCE: 96 Chevy blower motor wont work

If you have a test light, check for power at the blower motor, see if it will come on with a wire from battery positive ,to the positive on the blower motor,if it does not, check to see if the motor is grounded, then check to see if the relay has 12 volts to it.The relay should have 12 volts to it,with the switch off.Turn the switch on,and use test light only, touch the probe to all the terminals on the relay, one at a time, with the relay plugged up,when the test light touches the ground,on the relay,it will activate the blower motor, ground the test light of course.Use a test light to chase down the problem,it is the best toll for this, and is not exspensive.

2010 Dodge Avenger svt where is the relay, fuse for jeater blower motor

The relay and fuse for the heater blower motor in a 2010 Dodge Avenger SVT is typically located in the fuse box under the hood of the vehicle. The fuse box will usually have a label indicating the location of the fuse and relay for the heater blower motor.

To access the fuse box, you will need to open the hood of the vehicle and locate the box on the driver's side near the front of the engine compartment. The box will have a cover that you can remove to access the fuses and relays.

Once you have located the fuse and relay for the heater blower motor, you can check to see if either one is blown or faulty. If the fuse is blown, you will need to replace it with a new one of the same size and rating. If the relay is faulty, you may need to replace it.

It's important to use caution when working with the electrical system of your vehicle, as improper handling could result in injury or damage to the vehicle. If you are unsure of how to access or replace the fuse or relay, it may be best to seek the help of a professional mechanic.

No air coming out of vents and blower motor workS with jumper wireD, 2010 xc 60

a Volvo (must we guess"?) 2010 xc 60???? no air jumper-ed too?
if yes controls bad.
but with all blend door motors dead, air will flow.
there is no blower blocking door/damper ( but Filter)?
no air flows? means what?
hot air?
cold air?
either?
or no ambient air flows. or all.above.?

most cars have at least 3 dampers
MODE (direction)
hot cold, manual control.
recir'/fresh.

case in point, if hot core and AC core are dead
and blower spins you still get ambient cab air flow or fresh.
cab filter clogged up.
I need more facts to know what tests to do.

A air blower "rigged" high/low adjustment knob

Not sure about all your info. If the motor shorted, it would not turn. So something else shorted. I presume you had a friend wire the motor to a variable knob and that is why he wants you to keep it on all the way. Good idea since turning it down will cause it to heat up and possible burn out. Just find an off on (toggle) switch and put that in place of the knob thing.

Hearter temp control was blowing too hot, now only blows cold

Clicking sound you hear is the worn brushes in your blower motor. At this point the blower moter may or may not start with the switch. THe blower motor is faulty so I would change that first, then check for vacuum leaks or faulty selector cable for the heat blend door. It could have came off door side or heater control side.

Power at blower no power at heater control

Start simple and check the fuse. If you can run the fan on certain speeds but not others, it is most likely the resistor. If the fuse is good but it wont run on any speeds, look at the relay (this component is first in the circuit. If all components turn out to be fine, look lastly to your blower speed control knob.
