2006 colorado high purge flow solenoid - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado

the solenoid controls the valve to purge and vent
if the valve is faulty or the solenoid is faulty , same result

. .It's on the side of the engine under intake manifold in the middle between the starter and the alternator .

purge control valve

Didn't Google the code & use it correctly to diagnose
the problem

2006 Chevrolet Colorado LT 2.8L, Vin 8, Eng Cfg L4 Customer Concern: Current Powertrain Control Module (PCM) code P0449. Tests/Procedures: 1. Inspect the evaporative vent solenoid, near the fuel tank and evaporative canister. Look for wire damage, corrosion.

2. Check voltage to the solenoid on the Orange wire. It should be battery voltage, backprobing. If not, check the voltage level on the CAN VENT fuse, #69 in the Underhood Bussed Electrical Center (UBEC).

3. Cycle the evaporative vent solenoid with a scan tool. The solenoid should click.

4. Backprobe the White wire, pin 22 of the blue PCM connector. The voltage on this wire should be battery voltage with the solenoid off and close to 0 volts with the solenoid on. Potential Causes: Evaporative Vent Solenoid

Tech Tips: The evaporative vent solenoid is attached to the side of the evaporative canister above the spare tire.

P0411- Means Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected!
Possible causes - Vacuum hoses damaged.
- Air Pump inoperative.
- Air bypass solenoid circuit open.
- Air bypass solenoid leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.
- Air diverter valve leaking/blocked or stuck open/closed.
- Air air hoses r Possible solution - Visually inspect vacuum lines for disconnects in the AIR systems and visually inspect for proper vacuum line routing. Repair if necessary.
- Disconnect the air pump hose at the solenoid valve, start the engine and see if there is air being pumped P0445- Means Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted! Possible causes - Damage harness or connectors to the Purge Control Valve
- The valve circuit is open or shorted
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve may be faulty
P0445 Description The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve uses a ON/OFF duty to control the flow rate of fuel vapor from the EVAP canister. The EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve is moved by ON/OFF pulses from the ECM. The longer the ON pulse, the greater the amount of fuel vapor that will flow through the valve. When is the code detected? - An excessively high voltage signal is sent to ECM through the valve

All these codes indicate that maybe you lost your reference signal from the computer. What someone will have to do is check fo voltage and grounds from the PCM on the coolant temp sensor, Both 02 sensor heater circuits, the evap purge solenoid and the gas tank pressure sensor. Its possble the computer failed or you poped a PCM fuse in the fuse box under the hood. The cover should have a legend to tell you which is which but I would pull all of them and inspect anyways.

code 420= Catalyst system efficiency below threshold(bank 1) code 496=Evaporative emission system-high purge flow. Hope this helps if you need more help get back to me Thanks Ray

none of these codes will cause a no start condition.. have your fuel pressure and flow volume checked

2007 cobalt and am getting P0496 code as well. would love to know what is cause!
