First check that all electrical connections to/from your air conditioning components are tight and secure with no broken or chaffed wires and connectors, or oil swollen connection points. Then check that all fuses and relays involved in the operation of your air conditioning system are operational. If all is good, then remove the belt around the air conditioner compressor pulley. Get a wrench and try to turn the front of the compressor pulley. It should turn with little to no resistance. If it wont move or is very hard to turn, it is probably locked up and needs repair or replacement. If it moves, then the compressor part is OK, but your clutch would likely need replacement. Some model cars its cheaper to just replace the whole compressor than to rebuild the clutch. Jaguar sounds expensive - I would seek out a junk yard. Good luck.

SOURCE: air conditioning blows hot air when set at 65 or

Have the a/c checked for freon. Also make sure the a/c compressor is coming on when you turn on the switch.

SOURCE: My air conditioning was blowing

It should have been diagonosed already if you had a compressor installed, They are to check for leaks, and should have replaced any bad o-rings,
When the system is vacuumed (a mechine applies a vac. to remove any moister in the system) it is to sit for min. 15 minutes with pump off, any if the gauge shows that vac. has changed (should be a neg pressure) then there is a leak.
I would take it back, but I would only pay for parts.
Check out this site and maybe it will enlighten you how A/C systems work. Good luck

How much freon do I use to recharge the air condition unit for a 1996 Jimmy GMC

Dear Bennie,
There is not a set amount.
Your unit will be taking between 2 - 5 "cans".
You should not just add it in without knowing what you are doing.
It could blow up.
You will need hoses, and will need to add "freon" until the high pressure gauge reaches it's full mark, then stop.
God bless your efforts.

A/C Cluch Spinning, Fluid Full, but No Cold Air

Many A/C compressors rely on a computer generated reset of data to perform properly. Check the gauges, while attempting to energize the system to see if the fluids are up to the proper levels. Too much pressure can also be caused by a blockage in the lines and thus leaking from the valves. When filling with Freon, it is important to do a full Vacuum of the system to prevent air locks, and false readings on the gauges.

No cold air coming out of air condition just hot air

Check you ac belt under the hood is not slipping. Check that your ac clutch is engaging.
Check your freeon level.
It is possible you may have a freeon leak. The mechanics will use a dye to determine if you have a leak and where it is. The leak will be repaired and new freeon put in.
