Car idles fine, but sputters, bogs and dies if gas pedal is pressed.

new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.

I have a 1999 Chevy Blazer I changed the fuel pump I have to crank on it a long I have to crank on it a long time before it will start. The I don't goes up and down it bogs down an it bogs down and dies....

It could be the fuel pressure regulator, but that can be determined by testing the actual fuel pressure in the fuel feeder rail. But first, have you changed the fuel filter? The fuel filter usually is clogged with debris whenever a fuel pump fails, so be sure to change that first.

I have a 1996 2.5 liter Dodge dakota that will turn over but not

im assuming youve done basic tune up of plugs, wires, air and fuel filters, oil, distributor if applicable (im guessing not but never owned a dodge)

if it bogs down/stalls at stops only when its hot, try a new egr valve. probably getting stuck open. if not that try heavier oil to see if its losing compression, just one step up. also,

if it runs ok after clearing the computer by disconnecting the battery for a while, probably a dying sensor (most likely o2)

if after clearing computer it still runs bad after warm up, see if it bogs down really bad when letting it warm up from cold without driving (just idle to make sure its not egr system). if it dies or sounds like its close to dead, then its probably something fuel related (clogged/faulty injector, worn fuel pump, bad pump relay)

hope it helps

Motor bogs and wants to die when i stop with the a/c on.

What it sounds like you need to do, is adjust your BISS screw, its a little screw usually covered by rubber, sometimes not, it sits on top of your throttle body, and it adjusts how much air your car sucks when its at idle, if you adjust it for more air while idling, it should fix your problem that you described. You can use a flat head or a philips screw driver to turn the screw.

During hot days in summer, car bogs and dies now in spring.

your fuel pump is going.

there was a 10 year unlimited mileage warranty on 2000 focus for this issue, but not sure if 2001 was included. The internal filters in the fuel pump clog and starve the pump. New stlye filters went into prodction but not sure if all of 2001 had the new design.

96 pontiac sunfire bogs down and dies when I apply the gas.

as far as the bogging and dieing,it sounds like the tps.a simple trottle body service would fix that.for your new problem you need to some test before pointing to a salution.start the car and cover your tail pipe.as pressure builds it push you hand off.a clogged cat will put to much back pressure on the engine.i would un plug the mass air flow sensor and try running the car.this will turn on the check engine light.check your air filtter and plugs.also check your wires.a nother test is a coil strees test.(you have to go to a shop for this)if the car runs ok with no load but spitts and sputters in drive you may have a openning coil.checking with a meter only works if it does not run.last but not least while you at the shop, have them check your timing.a faulty cam sencer will bog the car down with bad timing advancement but not throw a code.
hope this helps, remember to keep it simple, expensive elec. parts are not always the problem
