03 Elantra hard shifting automatic transmission scary shifting only when it's cold Same thing happened last year with this this type of weather (cold)

There are Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) on many of the Elantras specifically related to hard or abrupt shifting when the transmission or weather is cold. You may need to take it to a Hyundai dealer to ensure the TSBs for the TCM related to shifting have been applied to your particular vehicle.

Hello I have a Hyundai tiburon 2003 v6 GT. I don't

the rpm's can vary from car to car , it all depends on the gearing in the transmission and ratios, 4.0 does seem high for a V6 the easiest thing would to be have your transmission serviced , on this car you need to get the Idle Air Control checked, In all the forums Ive read on this car , that seems to be whats wrong when the RPM's seem to high, also if you have the automatic trans and an electronic manual shifting mode does it do the same thing when you have it in the manual mode? there has been lots of discussion also on the MAP sensor,, I would suggest you have the OBD codes read to see if its listing any trouble codes within the computer that can help with locating your answers, once you get those codes if you post the results here, people will help you and explain what they mean, If you reply to this feed by replying, I will look them up for you

Hyundai accent won't move in reverse. It can go foward just fine.

on a hyundai you have a shifting sensor attached to the transmission that if it starts to go bad it will cause many problems, hard shifting, loss of power or no shifting.

Manual transmission at times has trouble shifting

2003 hyundai, should only have hyundai approved fluids in both the cooling system and transmission. If you take your vehicle to a transmission shop other that hyundai let them now there is a special fluid that goes back into the either radiator or transmission. Regular transmission fluids viscosity is to thick and will make shifting very hard. My Mazda has the same issues Wrong fluids go back into the transmission when I have had work done to it making the shifter hard to shift in cold weather. A Worn clutch can have the same effect.
