Bluetooth not playing music

You can only view video when the car is stationary, or only in the back of an MPV. You can't play music through a video source, only a video with music. Playing audio would be via Bluetooth or an Auxiliary Input on the Audio setting.

This vehicle is unknown in North America where we are. It is a Japanese and Far East Market release. This may work better for you.

I would think the radio unit is defective or the USB wiring is at fault.

The chime system is a class 2 databus. The chime is actually created by the factory radio and plays thru the left front speaker. If the radio is non factory and the appropriate kit was not used ( which has a speaker for the chine) or the front left speaker is blown then you won't have a chime. If you do have a factory radio and the speaker plays the music fine then the problem lies in either the data circuit or the radio. If you have an aftermarket radio and the correct wiring kit was used then either there is a bad connection, blown chime speaker or defective kit.

To play your music thru your car radio, the unit has to have an audio input or usb input that you can plug your sound source device into.

You'll have to confirm this with BMW as we have a 650, 135, and X3 not an X5, but your car won't play iphone based music via bluetooth. It will sync contacts, make calls and some other things (particularly with the newer apps) but it won't play your music.

To play your music you have to have the package that allows you to connect your iphone via an iphone cable (usb at one end, iphone connector at the other - what you use to charge it). With this connected you can then see all your music and control your iphone through the screen on the dashoard.

Is your Bluetooth devices connecting to it automatically when you turn it on? That is most likely the reason, your getting into the car, turning the radio on, playing music and then your phone is connecting to it automatically through Bluetooth, causing it to cut out the radio and display "Call".
