95 chevy lumina van won't stay running

I try and start the vechile. I am getting fuel. The only way to keep the car running is to pump the throttle. Stop pumping and the car dies. Cannot get the RPM's up. I have put on a new pressure regulator and fule filter. I am receiving fuel to the TBI. I tried to syphon the tank but hose will not go all the way down to fuel. All test on the OBD1 are clear. So Its not electrical. My only thoughts remaining is bad gas or fuel pump. Tank is 3/4 full. Any suggestions.
Thanks DJ

my fuel pressure gauge won't hook up to this vechile due to no schrader valve. Auto parts wants $100 just to rent a compatible device. I'm in the process of disconnecting the starter lead to let the fuel pump, pump out 3/4 tank of fuel. Since my syphon is not reaching the fuel in tank. Then I guess its drop the tank and change the pump and screen.

I would check the fuel pressure and see what it reads. im not for sure what the reading would be for that year model. you can call your local service department and see what they are. check them with the key on and vehicle off, then check them with the car on. if you dont get the right readings you are supposed to then i would say the fuel pump is not doing what it is supposed to do.

if you have not dropped the gas tank yet have some body to turn the ignition on but not start it while you stand beside the tank so you can hear the pump come on. it should turn on for about 2 sec then go off. if the pump doesnt come on then i would say the pump is gone.

I'd bet the fuel pump is bad, You say you are getting fuel, but are you getting good pressure?

91 Lumina won't stay running; see lots of same question for same car but no problem solvers....Please help.

On electronic fuel injection pumping an pumping an pumping the gas pedal does nothing without the engine running ! Pushing the gas pedal to the floor will cause the PCM - engine computer to go into clear flood mode .

You have some very interesting ideas here , but not really how it works or is !

The vehicle will go into closed loop fuel control when the engine coolant temp reaches a definded temp an the O2 sensor get hot.

She would run for a couple minutes and die which is open loop when running, closed loop is when the sensors kick and it would die. Pulled spark plugs, they were black meaning no spark. Can only be 2

Black spark plugs indecate a rich condition , over fueled , wet spark plugs indecate no spark .

95 blazer fuel prob's.

It drops when it is turned off through the return the pump might be getting weak If you keep using the starting fluid you will blow the intake off of it or it will get hooked on it and won't start without it.

1994 chevy lumina van. It will start and idle but stalls when gas

Try replacing the throttle position sensor. I had the same problem in my truck. It would start and run for a bit but as soon as you let off of the pedal, it would die. Try it and see if it works.
