Your car has a fan controller box, it can be self tested by the dealer, suggest u have this test run, one last thought have u hooked power to the fan motor to see if it is working, they do burn out as they run the most of the two fans.Is the compressor running?

2001 ford taurus air conditioer doesnt cycle with the computer but works fine with a jumper wire

check the relay(s), it may have bad contacts, there is more than one as you radiator fan should turn on when the AC clutch is activated. you'll need a VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) and a power source to check. there should be a diagram on the relay showing the pin connections for coil, common, and outputs. run continuity checks from common to outputs.

(you say it works great when jumped, so iam guessing that its not a too low or too high on freon)

Heat and air conditioner does not work properly. The air will come on very lightly - If I hit a bump or kick the bottom of dashoard - It will sometimes come on, but makes a loud noise when it does start...

It may just be time to replace the blower motor or the blower resister. The brushes in the fan motor assembly may be worn and not making very good contact. Using a test light at the connection at the fan motor harness is a good way to see if you're getting power to the motor when requested, if so, it is time to replace the blower fan assembly.

The cooling fan on my 2001 ford escort SE will not work normally

Check the coolant temperature with the car stopped. At idle with the hood up keep the thermometer in the coolant. Confirm if the coolant is not overheating but the engine is!!

Run the A/C keeping the thermometer in the coolant and allow the fan to kick on.

If with the A/C on the engine doesn't overheat then it confirms that the low speed on the fan motor is not working. Read the description of the Taurus where the low speed is used for normal operation when temperature is required but the high speed is activated when the A/C is on. The circuit is simple.

In your case the low speed has to be activated for the A/C to go into the high speed. The fact that the high speed is working and low speed is not indicates the low speed of the fan is defective.

Other problems such as the thermostat or plugged cooling system(radiator clogged) could be the root problem!

Hope this helps?

Air conditioner in 2006 ford taurus car fan blows air but it does not cool

could be many things such as a leak in the a/c system, blend door/motor, clogged orphus tube, or an electrical problem in the a/c circut- i usually recomend that a/c work be handled by the professionals due to health hazards and most people don't have the right tools to do the job.

2000 Ford Taurus-- Heater not working.

what you need to do is check that your relays are OK
in some cars you cannot see through the relay like a fuse
the only way to check if it is the relays is by replacing them
if this dose not work and you have a electronic climate control system your controm box may be burnt out this will need replacing
