Hi. This is a big complaint and you are not alone. Chrysler has recalled over 349,000 Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler models with this issue. The ignition keys must be programmed to the WIN module. If the module will not program then they will need to replace the module again. The WIN module is what the FOB slides into. You may want to ask the service writer to be more specific. Ask if their technician to explain what is the cause of the communication failure. Is it the WIN module or the ECU? Hope this helps.

I just bought my Jeep Gr Cher Laredo V8 5.2l 4X4 in April 2011. I was doing a VIN check on it for possible accidents and came across that there is a RECALL for this make, model, and year for the FLOOR SHIFTER. Chrysler Daimler will fix it free for you if your's hasnt already been fixed. You can look it up in search as "VINxxx recalls" and "Auto Safety Recalls (make, model, year)" also. Hope this helps.I had noticed the problem but had NO idea there was a recall for it! Good luck!
