How do I check the fuel pressure?
Hi, I'm Peter, You should have a port on your fuel rail that has a black plastic cover remove the cover . This is the port where you will screw the fuel pressure gauge to, being careful not to over tighten it. he knurled knob is designed to be used with your fingers only so there will be less chance of damaging the fuel pressure port itself. You can either borrow a fuel pressure gauge or buy one from the parts store they are not very expensive. You can then turn the key to on position but not start and listen for your fuel pump . When it meets the required line pressure it should shut off. Get out or if you had someone else turn the key on while you watched the gauge you can then take a reading. The pressure should be maintained for a while and not go back to 0 PSI if it does then you most likely have a pressure regulator(sensor) problem. The pressure regulator( some call it a sensor ) will be located on the driver side of the engine and will be attached to the fuel rail. Since this part is vacuum operated you need to inspect closely all vacuum lines for leaks.. You did not state why you want to read the fuel pressure so I am assuming you feel you are having a pressure related problem. This part is vacuum operated and relieves the fuel pressure when it gets to the required pressure. Once you have determined you have your fuel pump working then start the car and let it idle. The fuel pressure should be 32 PSI. If you pull the line off it will jump to 40.

I hope some of this helps. If you state a specific problem maybe I can help you a little better. I know you just wanted to know how to check your fuel pressure but I wouldn't want you to spend money for no reason. If this doesn't help and you do have a loss of fuel pressure or your pump not running you may also want to check your Fuel pump Driver Module. It is a module that has your fuel pump relay inside of it. They aren't cheap so check it before buying. They run around $127.00 at Autozone. God Luck
There is a valve on the fuel rail it look a lot like a tire valve it will have a black cap on it and you need a fuel pressure tester for the job. you can however turn the key to the on position, the fuel pump should come on for two seconds, you can then depress the schrader valve and fuel should shoot out most of the time if you have good pressure it will hit the hood, so keep back.

The fuel pump on all models except the 1986-90 Integra, is located in the fuel tank. On the 1986-90 Integra the fuel pump is located under the rear of the vehicle, near the drivers side of the fuel tank.
PRESSURE TESTING
See Figure 1
On all models, the fuel pump should run for about 2 seconds when the ignition is first turned ON . By removing the filler cap and listening at the filler, it should be possible to hear the pump run each time the ignition is switched ON . It will then stop again until the starter is activated.
