SOURCE: My Audi 500 SEL 1993 model is difficult to start -

bad fuel, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel fiter, injectors or fuel fiter. If injectors are leaking at o-rings on rail or cylinder head your sucking in air and changing mixture ratio, computer can't compensate. Try all these things before proceding further... also when cold thew seals may be holding but when warmed up this is can be a very dangerous fire condition!

Hi, Even though the Pressure Regulator has been replaced,It could have a raptured Diafram. Check to make sure your fuel return line is not Plugged, Other possibilities are Leaking Injectors or Damaged. Also check your Throttle body gaskets and Fuel Fittings.

Sir I hope this has helped you to solve your problem, PLEASE let me Know if my Solutions have helped you by Voting on the Solutions i've given you.

Thank You Sir.

1999 hyundia elantra fuel injection rail, has a air leak, what needs replaced

removing t removing the fuel injection rail inspecting the rail for any cracks also look at the bottom of the fuel injectors make sure no pieces of the injector make sure bottom of injectors are no split. First thing to check is the seals on the injectors I would say u are most likely looking at replacing the injectors.you can get new seals but if you don't use special toll they will crack and u will have to spend more money

I have to pump the throttle several times and then it starts sometimes and sounds like backfireing allthough its feul injected!

'pumping' a fuel injected engine is NOT like the old days (like with a carb)-if you hold the petal to the floor, it shuts off the injectors-NO petal, the injectors pulse (and dump fuel to an engine that is slow to start). If you are having hard starting, chances are good you have a flooding condition-leaking injectors, leaking O-rings, a damaged fuel pressure regulator could all be re3asons for your hard starting (and backfiring from a flooded engine). You should try to HOLD the petal to the floor and see if that helps-if it does, you should get the fuel regulator checked, replace the injector o-rings, check fuel pressure and might even need to consider replacing injectors themselves (or having them cleaned).

My Audi 500 SEL 1993 model is difficult to start - as if there is not enough fuel injected when the engine is cranked. Agents tell me that the injectors are leaking and needs replacement. I don't agree...

Engine turns over on my 2003 Jetta 1.9L TDI but does not start. New battery , all lights are working. Changed fuel fillter and put diesel in it to wet it, but still does not start. It did start once and...

When were the glow plugs last changed?

They sit over the cylinder like spark plugs and warm the diesel before it goes into the inlet manifold, greatly assists starting.

Serious miss, almost like dropped cylinder, No

I don't know what year your ford is but most of them have the injectors mounted externally. There not bad at all to do. Vehicle off, release fuel-line pressure, remove the bolts holding down fuel rail, pull the injector/s out of the head, lap injector o-ring with motor oil, install new injector/s into head. lap top o-ring with motor oil, install fuel rail, start vehicle, and check for leaks. If you are only replacing a few injectors do buy new injector o-rings for the other injectors. You will not be able to push the fuel-rail back onto the injectors without replacing them (they will be swolen).

If it leaking at an o'ring replace the o'ring. If the injector is leaking, it will need replaced. The new injector will come with o'rings.
