Have the alarm temporarily disconnected! then if the issue persists then there is a short circuit in the indicator wiring system!

  • Anonymous Aug 12, 2013

Hi, Where or how to find that short circuit wire?

  • Leon Aug 28, 2020

Hi, is it possible that the alarm control box can malfunction? When I switch on my brights, my car cuts out and shuts of the whole electrical system. Sometimes when it starts working the hazards flash and alarm indicator also flashes. Taken the car to a autolec, fixed and ALL fault codes cancelled-problem still persisting.

Hazard warning lights activate when engine is turned off and car is parked. Any ideas please? Battery went dead due to hazard lights flashing all night

Sounds like a alarm system. I had an old car that did that untill I hit lock or unlock on the RF remote

if not check the Emergency flasher switch or maybe a relay. Of course make sure the button is not on. Try toggling on and off.

I have a 2005 and the hazard lights keep flashing, I don't know what to do.?

The hazard lights are only a connection of all indicator lights through the hazard light switch on the dash. Press the switch again and if there are no other problems the lights will return to the indicators only

What does the lighted triangle with an ! mean?

That is the hazard lights! Many automobiles use their front and rear signal lights to create hazard lights in a distinctive lighting pattern which can be used to alert other drivers to a problem. Typically, hazard lights run on the same circuit as regular lights, although they are controlled with a separate switch. Knowing how and when to use hazard lights can be useful in an emergency situation, although you should also be equipped with highway flares. When the switch is activated, all of the turn signals on the vehicle will simultaneously illuminate and start flashing in a rhythmic pattern. This pattern is highly visible and very unique, so that drivers will not confuse it with turn signals or approaching headlights.

Hi, I just got a series 3 1996 BMW. The alarm is constantly on and when we disabled it the hazard lights flash continuously. Any idea how to sort this?

There is a short in the connections so the hazard lights are flashing. The hazard flashers may begin flashing by themselves or the turn signals may flash at twice the normal speed due to condensation shorting out the circuit board. --------- Have you tried disconnecting the car battery, then turning the ignition on and reconnecting the battery? If not then please try this and check. And see if that makes any difference in the problem or solves the problem.--------- Also you can try disabling the hazards from flashing. To stop the hazards flashing pull the hazard switch out (pull the gear leaver gaiter out then you can put your fingers under the switch and push it out) then you will see a single wire in a black sleeving, cut this wire and this will stop them flashing. Also the alarm is behind the glove-box if you want to unplug it there. ----------- Keep updated for anymore query.Thanks.

Dash board of my 2000 crysler voyager keep flashing, and the out side lights do de same thing.

the hazard switch is the problem or it is cause by passive alarm, remove the hazard switch or hazard fuse and observe the function of the lights, if lights stop flashing, change the switch, if continous flashing check the keyless entry reciever or the body control module
