My dash lights only turn on part way. While turning the dimmer up at the half-way point the lights stop getting brighter. I have the dash ripped out of my car currently and can't figure out how to get behind to see if there's a bulb burnt or anything. Thanks for the help!

Unclear description of your problem... First, you say 'dimmer up at the half-way point and lights stop getting brighter'?.. Then you seem to be concerned about burned out bulbs. First of all, you describe two different problems... ya think? If you have burned out bulbs, then you can find them and replace them. If you have a lighting problem regarding 'brightness', you need to be more clear as to the problem. If the problem is bulbs, and these burned out bulbs are causing the 'dim' illumination of the dash lights, I'd say you solved the problem. If this is NOT what you meant, then it must be a problem in the rheostat which is not bringing the lights that do work up to the maximum intensity -- would you agree?

Have taillights but no brake lights or dash lights

Those are different unrelated circuits. The dash lights are from the Head/park light switch. Make sure the dimmer rheostat is not turned way down-you know, how you turn the knob for brighter or dimmer interior. If the bulbs are good on the backside of the cluster, it may be the switch.
The brake light switch is on the brake pedal. If no power to the switch, check the stop light fuse. I believe it may be same fuse as the hazard lights.

Location of the dimmer swtich

Mine is the trip odometer knob. With the lights on, turn the trip odometer knob and the dash lights should get brighter or darker, depending on which way you turn it. If that doesn't work, Google it. They will tell you where the switch is.

2002 Grand Caravan. Overhead console lighted switches are not lighting. The Map lights that shine straight down works but none of the others back lights. Side door switch, rear gate switch, garage door...

The first thing that comes to mind is that the dash lights scroll dimmer is scrolled all the way in one direction which manually shuts off all the interior lights, even if a door is opened. At night turn on the parking lamps and then scroll the dash lights dimmer until the dash, radio face, overhead console, etc is brighter. Turn off the headlamp switch. Shut off the engine and exit the vehicle. Interior lights on? Hope this helps.

Lights on odometer dash not working; is it a fuse or wiring?

Make sure your instrument panel dimmer switch is not turned down. It is a "thumb wheel" located in the dash to the left of the steering column. Roll the thumbwheel UP to make the instrument panel lights brighter and roll it DOWN to make the lights dimmer.

At night when the headlights come on the dash lights goes out how do i fix this

Normally when the headlights are on the dash lights are dimmed down a fair amount so they don't glare in your eyes and affect your vision at night. The dimmer control that controls the brightness of the dash at night may have accidentally gotten turned way down which would cause the symptom you have. Find the dash dimmer control and try to see if you can make the dash lighting brighter and dimmer. It can be difficult to locate so you may have to check your owners manual on it's location.

After jump-starting my van, the panel lights don't come on when the headlights are on. How do I fix this?

this either a fuse that bew or your dimmer switch that makes the lights brighter and dimmer on the dash is turned down all the way if the fuse is good and it's nit turned down all the way then the bulbs are all blown or the dimmer switch is bad

Failure of instrument cluster & console lighting

My 2003 Elantra had a problem when I would use the turn signals. The dash lights would flicker on and off and if you jiggled the arm of the dimmer switch it would turn the dash lights back on. Over time it got worse. AND little did I know it also made the tail lights and front parking lights flicker on and off!!! So it was not good to say the least.
I took the switch out and opened it up. And inside where the turn signal components moved to make their contact connections, there was a build up of electrical contact grease at the bottom making intermittent contact between two points (I'm assuming gravity and vibration over the years moved the grease down there and built up). I cleaned the excess contact grease from the area. Reassembled the switch. Put back in steering column. No longer having issues.
