If it is an east, west engine there is a stainless steel flex section in the exhaust pipe at the exhaust manifold that cracks under the braid
have an accredited exhaust shop check it out more informatio as to make , model year woulf be helpful
sounds like the flex pipe it's a steel braided exhaust part that allows the engine to move back and forth these are a common problem moisture will sit in the accordion parts and they rot from the inside out and they will usually look fine at first glance unless the braids are starting to pull apart
check for a crack in the manifold to exhaust pipe connection
to allow the engine to move ,there is normally a flexible piece of exhaust pipe in a stainless steel braid that cracks and allows exhaust sound out especially on acceleration
could be even broken at the manifold connection at the flange
Most are the same but some depends from how you drive your car,if you need to drive it more aggressive then you need an high degreeexhaust that keeps temperatur low and protects the parts.
a "synthetic high performance exhaust " will be the best for your car!
hope that i helped you,

as the noise is not described, a suggestion to check the exhaust manifold , gasket or flex section of the exhaust pipe to manifold may be in order
the flex section has a habit of cracking under the stainless steel braiding
Thats the flex pipe probably attached to your converter. This type of pipe is used because of how the engine sits in the engine compartment and is used to reduce stress on the exhaust system. This can be done at home but it requires wielding skills. The piece you need is the flex joint. If you have not done this before I might recommend you have some assistance with it. With the Downpipe, Flexpipe and Catalytic Converter all being one piece and only needing the flex joint it will take two or three hours.
Most likely the braided fuel hose, from the steel line to the flex, has rusted at the connection. That hose won't be avail at the dealer. You will have to remove at the fuel rail and where it is leaking, and make up your own.
Problem is finding the push-on connectors, not having braided hose and heat issues.
YOU NEED STEEL TUBING FOR BRAKE LINES.BRAKE HOSES IS FLEXIBLE WITH STEEL BRAIDED LINING.DONT USE ANY OTHER HOSES BUT BRAKE HOSES MADE FOR BRAKES AND HYDRALIC PRESSURE.
I have seen a lot of muffler shops or reg shops just weld that thing together to stop the leak, because it does wear out fast, it is a flex joint, I think to replace it it, you have to get the whole section of pipes, crossovers, etc, whatever you have under there. Hope this helps.
