SOURCE: 1990 Jeep Cherokee intermittent electrical problem

I had a similar problem a few years ago, but it involved the head lights going out when I had to use the brakes. I replaced the head light switch because I found that it had started to melt, but there was actually an underlying electrical problem that this did not fix. A friend eventually found some kind of short behind the fuse panel, but I'm not exactly sure what he did to fix it. You might want to check the fuses and all of the wiring around the fuse panel for damage. Just BE CAREFUL with the electrical stuff. It's probably a good idea to disconnect the negative battery cable before you start messing with anything. Again... I don't know exactly what my friend did to fix the problem, but it involved that area in the electrical system. The switch is probably melting because of an over-current in that circuit. It will be easier to look at everything if you remove the plastic paneling on the bottom part of the dashboard. You might also want to check and see if clutch master cylinder is leaking any fluid down on to the fuse panel under the dash. I'm not an expert by any means... but I hope this helps.

SOURCE: wipers turn signals and ac/heater not comming on

looks like they are on more than one fuse. your passenger compartment fuse box is down below your dash panel on drivers side between brake pedal and left side kick panel. the heater a/c fuse is a 25 amp fuse, should be fuse 6. the wipers are fed through a 4.8 amp circuit breaker which might be in the same fuse box, or not. your car also has a power distribution center under the hood. if you don't get anywhere with the fuses in the passenger compartment, look in the power distribution center. chrysler doesn't always share lots of info and i can only look up part of the wiring diagram. can't find anything about turn signals, my guess is that fuse is in power distribution box. hope that helps

SOURCE: '87 Cherokee no horn, turn signals, brake lights, wipers, blower

Pull the fuses and check the socket for power on the things that don't work. If there is no power at the fuse box there is a good change the stater igintion switch is toast. it is located on top of the steering colunm under the dash.usally less then 20 bucks All that you mentioned get power from this switch that goes to the fuse panel when you turn the key on

Click on the link, check fuse f13--20 amp. Not only check the fuse, check the fuse circuit for voltage, use a test lite, hot all the time.
You have to test when problem is ongoing. The fuse is for brake lamps.
At the moment, I don't know if trouble shooting one system will fix the rest? With multiple issues, I pick one system and trouble shoot.

Just bought my 94 jeep cherokee & the screen in the middle consol continues me beep and flash ''rear lamp failure''

the driver information center(DIC) is telling you one or more of your rear light bulbs has failed. it could be a tail light, stop light, center high mount stop light, turn signal or license plate light. have someone in the vehicle turn the lights on and hit the brakes and turn signals so you can see which one is burned out.

try replacing the ignition switch(not the ignition lock[where the key goes]).it will probably be located on top of the steering column , towards the bottom.but before going through with this make sure the connectors to the switch are fully plugged in.

1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport Fuse Needed?

Sometimes there are relays under the hood. There is usually a diagram posted underneath the door when you tak it off. The turn signal is usually just a fuse, which may be in your glove box(has a diagram under the door), under the driver or passenger side dash. Do you still have the manual for the vehicle?

There is a tiny little peanut shaped light bulb inside the radio that provides the light for the dial, it is replaceable, you will need to remove the radio, then pull the top cover off the radio chassis, the bulb is under the cover.
