Bad starter how to replace it

Sounds like a bad bendix, replace the starter?

If it was an aftermarket starter, it may have been just a bad starter, in one venture of mine I replaced a starter 3 times same vehicle and the last starter, the 3rd one worked great

The flywheel could be bad. The flywheel is so big that it will only grind the teeth every so often when it is in that spot. If you are sure that the starter is bad, replace it. you may have a bad starter relay, or bad starter colenoid, best solution, have starter relay checked, if good, replace starter, does it click when you try to start?but won't? clicking indicates bad battery connections, bad starter colenoid, or simply bad starter. sometimes it's better to replace the whole starter, considering how much it costs to check all the above. suggest that you have battery checked for free at autozone or advance automotive for free. if battery checks good, replace starter. if you accept my solution and it works, let me know via fixya.com and thank you for choosing fixya.com

starter or solenoid. Both come off at same time. Take them apart, and you can troubleshoot which one is bad, or can just replace both. If you hotwire 12 volts to starter and it turns, then starter is good (replace solenoid). If no turn, starter is bad.

either bad connection to the starter solenoid 1 starter solenoid itself going bad 2 the positive battery cable going to the starter from the battery needs replacement.

run a positive jumper cable from the + battery post to the starter post if it turns over replace battery cable. also check ground cable

Most likely. If you are sure all connections are good at the new battery and alternator then it is either a bad starter or a bad fuel pump relay. To check the relay get under the back end of the car and have someone turn on the key, if you hear a
"humming" noise, then I would replace the starter.

is it a rappid clicking if so bad batt. if single click bad starter rappid click somtimes mean dirty cables or bad ground single click is bad starter could be silanoid or contacks
