Car cranks fine just doesnt want to turn over. p/w and p/s stop working for about an hour. And then car starts up and runs fine. Just put new plugs, wires and new coil pack in it.
thinking maybe its a short somewhere. Messed around with it today and I'll try to start and have spark to the coil packs but the fuel pump wont start up, and sometimes i have a fuel and no spark.thinking maybe its a short somewhere. Have you had the battery itself tested? Features like the lights and power windows do not use a lot of battery power. A starter motor will use at least 9 volts on a 12 volt battery. Batteries usually only last about 5 to 8 years before they start to fail, less if you have 'start-stop' fitted to your vehicle.
it might be the fuel pump take the output hose off of it and crank the engine and see if fuel comes out of the pump if it does the fuel pump is not the probelem. if it doesnt come out or if it slowly comes out than you need a new fuel pump
Could be your fuel pump starting to go. When it doesnt start, open your gas cap and listen for a whining noise when the key is turned onto the on position. This will indicate the fuel pump is working. If you dont hear that noise, then it most probably is the fuel pump.
If no lights (including headlights) come on at all and the car won't turn over you need to make sure the battery cable connections are clean and tight. If you meant you don't get any warning lights on the dash then I would guess your mechanics are wrong (it probably isn't having the staring problem when they are looking at it) about not getting spark. Replace the crank position sensor as it can cause that no hot start problem and it will get worse to where the car stalls when hot and won't restart. A new crank position sensor should solve your problem. Get a few quotes before replacing it because some garages overcharge for working on SAAB's.
if the car just wine's when starting like it would normally and nothng is happening...Check for fuel, either find the fuel pressure relief valve near the rear of the engine, and depress the valve stem (fuel should hit the roof of hood) if not then its a fuel problem, try this a couple times, but turning the key over, and listen for noise from the gas t ank to see if the pump is actuating.. if you hear the noise while just turn the keyy to acc, not start plz comment back that you hear it , but its still doesnt start....
hope this fix's-ya!
