Washer reservoir hose replacement

Removal Procedure
1.) Remove the washer solvent from the washer solvent container.
2.) Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
3.) Disconnect the washer pump electrical connector .
4.) Disconnect the washer hose from the washer pump.
5.) Disconnect the washer solvent level sensor electrical connector.
6.) Remove the washer solvent container screws.
7.) Remove the washer solvent container from the frame rail.



Installation Procedure: the reverse process of removal

Remove the bolt holding the reservoir to the fender. Lift the reservoir up and disconnect the washer hose and electrical connector. Remove the entire reservoir from the vehicle and drain. Replace pump

very simple. remove cross brace. 2 bolts hold the reservoir in, remove hose, and replace with new one, hook up hose and replace cross brace.

PROBABLE CAUSE Impact to the front bumper pushes the bumper back far enough to break the washer pump hose fitting. CORRECTIVE ACTION Replace the windshield washer reservoir and washer motor with updated parts. REPAIR PROCEDURE 1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC (I) to unlock the steering column. 2. Raise the vehicle on a lift. 3. Remove the right front inner fender. Unhook and pull back the bumper for better access. CLIPS (6 places.) SCREWS (6 places.) RIGHT FRONT INNER FENDER 4. Release the hooks on the upper right side of the front bumper. 5. Remove the clip from the filler neck, then remove the filler neck. FILLER NECK CLIP WINDSHIELD WASHER RESERVOIR CLIP WASHER MOTOR CONNECTOR BOLT BOLTS WASHER TUBES 6. Remove the right front fender trim, and disconnect the washer hose from the 90-degree fitting. CLIP FRONT FENDER TRIM FRONT HOSE 7. Disconnect the 2P connector and the two washer tubes from the washer motor. 8. Remove the washer reservoir clip and the three bolts, then pull out the reservoir. 9. Assemble the new reservoir components, but do not install the filler neck. 10. Trim 85 mm off the end of the 1,260 mm washer tube only. 11. Route the washer tubes on the reservoir. NOTE: The black fitting is for the front windshield nozzles, and the white fitting is for the rear nozzle. 85 mm 12. Install the reservoir. 13. Connect the rear tube to the straight fitting in the wheelwell. 14. Connect the 2P connector to the washer motor. NEW RESERVOIR Connect the rear washer tube. CLIP BOLT 9.8 N•m (7.2 lb•ft) 15. Install the filler neck with the original clip. Connect the front washer tube to the 90-degree fitting. Then reinstall the front fender trim. Hi,
Don't spend your time removing something that is not relevant to the problem.
The hose can be pulled easily from underneath of that washer reservoir.
First thing is to find out why the washer fluid leaks, look for the cause of the leak.
If the leak is in the reservoir, just remove the reservoir and check it.
If the problem is in the hose line, remove the hose from the "Y" connection between the two washer nozzle and pull the hose from the main outlet of the tank washer.

Windshield Washer Motor REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1987-95 Vehicles

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain or siphon the washer solvent from the reservoir.
3. For 1987-91 vehicles, remove the brace.
4. Unfasten the reservoir screws.
5. Detach the electrical connectors and washer hose.
6. If necessary, remove the reservoir from the vehicle.

   To install:
   
8. Install the washer pump motor on the reservoir. Make sure the pump is fully seated in the reservoir gasket.
9. Position the reservoir in the vehicle.
10. Attach the electrical connectors and washer hose.
11. Install the reservoir retaining screws.
12. Install the brace.
13. Fill the reservoir with washer solvent.
14. Connect the negative battery cable, then check for proper washer pump operation.

1996-99 Vehicles

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain or siphon the washer solvent from the reservoir.
3. Detach the electrical connectors from the washer.
4. Disconnect the hose from the washer pump.
5. Loosen the nut at the bottom of the washer reservoir.
6. Unfasten the 2 nuts, then remove the washer solvent reservoir.
7. Remove the washer pump from the container.
8. If necessary, remove the solvent lever sensor switch from the washer solvent container. Fig. 2: Exploded view of the washer fluid reservoir, pump and level sensor
   To install:
   
9. Install the solvent level sensor switch in the washer solvent container. The tab on the solvent level sender switch must be lined up with the slot in the hole.
10. Install the washer pump into the reservoir, making sure the pump is pushed all the way into the container seal.
11. Install the washer solvent reservoir and secure with the 3 nuts. Tighten the nuts to 44 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
12. Attach the electrical connectors to the solvent level sensor and washer pump.
13. Connect the hose to the washer pump.
14. Fill the reservoir with washer solvent.
15. Connect the negative battery cable, then check for proper washer pump operation.

Pump and Reservoir, Windshield Washer Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301).
   
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
   
3. Remove the RH wheel (1007).
   
4. Remove the RH front fender splash shield (16103). Refer to Section 01-02 for the removal procedure.
   
5. Remove the windshield washer reservoir top bolt.
   
   
6. Disconnect the windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor electrical connector.
   
7. Disconnect the rear window washer pump electrical connector from the rear window washer pump.
   
8. Disconnect the windshield washer pump electrical connector from the windshield washer pump (17664).
   
9. Place a suitable drain pan under the windshield washer reservoir (17618) and drain the washer fluid.
   
10. NOTE: The rear window washer hose end is color-coded, matching the connector on the rear window washer pump. Match the colors to ensure proper installation.
    
    Disconnect the washer hoses from the windshield washer pump and the rear window washer pump on the windshield washer reservoir.
    
    
11. Loosen the two windshield washer reservoir side bolts.
    
12. Remove the windshield washer reservoir by sliding it out of the side slots.
    
13. Remove the windshield washer pump.
    
    Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the lug nuts (1012) to 98-118 Nm (72-87 lb-ft).

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the engine fresh air housing inside the engine compartment.
3. Disconnect the washer hose at the in-line connector forward of the cowl grille so that the in-line connector remains with the washer hose from the fresh air plenum.
4. Disconnect the washer hose from the hose clip located on the front fender side shield.
5. Remove the filler tube screw.
6. Hoist and support vehicle on hoist or jack stands.
7. Remove the right front wheel and tire assembly.
8. Disconnect the left right front wheelhouse splash shield and move aside.
9. Drain washer fluid from the reservoir and into a suitable clean container. This can be done by disconnecting the windshield washer hose from the front (outboard) washer pump and allowing the washer fluid to drain into a container through a temporary jumper hose connected to the front washer pump.
10. Disconnect the electrical body harness connectors to the washer pump motors and the fluid level sensor. Slide the red lock on the connector to the release position, then, depress the black tab and pull the connector off the pump or sensor.
11. Remove the two reservoir mounting screws.
12. Disconnect the reservoir from the body mount by raising the reservoir upward slightly and then down so that the reservoir filler neck and front washer hose pull through the opening in the front fender side shield.

INSTALLATION

1. Push filler neck and front washer hose through the opening in the front fender side shield. Connect the reservoir to the body mount by lowering the reservoir down.
2. Install the two reservoir mounting screws. Torque screws to 8.5 - 11.3 Nm (75 - 100 in. lbs.) .
3. Connect the electrical body harness connectors to the washer pump motors and the fluid level sensor. Slide the red lock on the connector to the closed or locked position.
4. Assure that washer is properly routed to prevent pinching and possible inoperative washers.
5. Connect the left right front wheelhouse splash shield and move aside.
6. Install the right front wheel and tire assembly.
7. lower vehicle from hoist or jack stands.
8. Install the filler tube screw. Torque screw to 8.5 - 11.3 Nm (75 - 100 in. lbs.) .
9. Connect the washer hose to the hose clip located on the front fender side shield.
10. Connect the washer hose at the in-line connector forward of the cowl grille.
11. Install the engine fresh air housing inside the engine compartment.
12. Connect the battery negative cable.
13. Verify system operation.

I blieve it's the same pump taht runs the rear and front washers.

The windshield washer comprises the following parts:

• Windshield washer reservoir, below the front left-hand fender
• Washer pump, on the outside of the washer reservoir
• Two washer nozzles on the hood/bonnet, adjustable.

Windshield Washer Pump and Reservoir Removal
All vehicles

1. Remove the windshield washer reservoir filler neck.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 .

1. Remove the right-hand fender splash shield (wheel shown removed for clarity).

1. Remove the washer reservoir.
   • Disconnect the electrical connectors.
   • Pull off the hoses.

1. Remove the windshield washer pump with rubber gasket (shown with reservoir installed).
   1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
   1. Disconnect the hoses.
   1. Lift out the pump.

Reservoir —Windshield Wiper

Removal

1. Remove the RH wheel; refer to Section 204-04 .

1. Position RH splash shield aside.
   1. Remove six screws.
   1. Remove three pin-type retainers.
   1. Position RH splash shield aside.

1. NOTE: Windshield washer fluid should be collected in a container after the windshield washer hoses are disconnected.
   Disconnect the electrical connector and washer hoses.

1. Remove the upper reservoir bolt.

1. Remove the windshield washer reservoir.
   • Loosen the two lower reservoir bolts.
