You need to have the dealer scan the control module to see what codes show in memory

2001 Chevy silverado 4wheel drive..Shifts through every gear, but you have to back off the throttle for it to shift from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3..It shifts fine after that but it has no reverse.

it sounds like you have bad synchronizes the only thing you can do is live with it or rebuild it and i will tell you you will have the cat by the tail unless you no some one who knows how hope this helps good luck

My 1997 chevy blazer does not have a 4wheel drive switch

If there is no switch present then it is full time 4X4, it does not disengage, good for travel bad for fuel mileage.

2003 chevy silverado 1500 won't go into 4 wheel drive. shifter works fine and 4wheel light comes on, but no 4wheel. this just started.

HAVE YOUR PLUNGER FOR THE DIFF CHECKED IT SHOULD BE UNDER THE BATT TRAY

4wheel drive service light comes on

its a possibility that the transfer case might be going out or the fluids in it are bad sometimes after alot of mileage the tranfer case will slip or stick

Hi; If this vehicle has electronic vacuum or pushbutton four wheel drive, the vacuum acuator switch is probably defective.
