1996 oldsmobile aurora door latch in closed position

I assume the problem with the cutlass is the same as mine and I will try to take the panel off but would like to avoid this. if anyone has a solution to the latch permanently stuck in the closed position please help. I tried lubrication and knocking it around with a rubber mallet but it did not work.

Open the car door and pull on the release latch that you use to open the car door from the inside to get out. At the same time use a screwdriver to push up the latch on the side of the door. Sometimes the seatbelt gets caught on the door when you close it causing the latch on the side to close prematurely

SOURCE: The windows in the 95 oldsmobile cutlass ciera won't work at all

maybe the wire is severed where the door (drver dr) pivots. thats what was wrong with mine. there is a rubber boot with crinkles in it that hold all the wires together. you can also try replacing the switch board that controls the wndws on the drvr dr. hope that helps.

SOURCE: 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass will not stay running

Your fuel pressure should be at least 40psi at all times. The most common problem is the diaphram inside the "fuel pressure regulator" fails. This in turn sends excess fuel into the vacuum line and intake. I would replace the fuel pressure regulator.

I hope this information helps you, and I wish you luck with your repair.

SOURCE: 1996 oldsmobile aurora oil pressure

The Aurora is a low pressure oil system. The only solution available at this time is to increase the oil weight. I went o straight 30W to solve the idle alarm issue. Some use 20W oil and that works too.
With 20W you will be at 80 to 90psi cold then drop to 20-30psi hot.
I first replaced the oil pressure gauge and it was worse. I put the original back in and it was better. Then went to 30W and all is fine.
Running it that way for a few years now.

SOURCE: hot do i close the sunroof of a Oldsmobile Aurora

Id start by just checking the fuse and relay for the sunroof to make sure they are good. Im not exacly sure, but I think the sunroof fuse and relay are in the fuse box located under your back seat. Your owners manual has a diagram of both the fuse boxes in that car (under the hood to). Id start here. If the fuses and relay is good, I would take it to a dealer, it may be the motor. If you can hear the motor whining but it is just not moving, something may be jammed in the track, Good luck

1996 oldsmobile aurora door latch in closed position.

If you know the door latch is in the closed position, then I would assume you know where the latch is and what it looks like. You should be able to take a screwdriver of the handle of a pair of pliers and push the latch up until it clicks to lock open until you close the door. Hopefully this helps.

Car door won't open from inside

Could be the handle, the connecting rod, or the door latch. If it opens from the outside you should be able to rule out the latch and the lock.

Number 4 at the top is rod for release. I couldn't get everything in one picture. It appears to me, you need to remove door panel and then check everything.

I can't open the driver side door on my 1994 olds cutlass supreme

Pull the rod that actuates the door latch mechanism, AFTER you make sure the door lock is in the unlocked position.

If the door lock is partially engaged, the door latch mechanism won't release.

Door handle linkage disconnects

You'll have to remove the door panel, yes the whole thing, and look for any broken or missing parts in your door latch/lock linkage.Be careful not to break any wires that power your windows/locks while removing the panel. It may be just a plastic clip that holds the linkage together has fallen off.Check in the bottom of the door well for parts that may have fallen down there. A manual from the library or online is a big help here.
