Question about 2001 Hyundai Tiburon

2001 Hyundai Tiburon The dome lights stopped working.

The dome lights stopped working. I have been told that the entire head liner needs to be removed to service the dome lights. This seems a little crazy. Is there a simple way to check and service the bulbs?

The "clear" plastic inserts pop out... If you look closely youl see small slits around the border... just pop a flat head in there and GENTLY ease it out. The bulbs are cheap, though if you want colored you have to stay away from the cheap ones, being in that all they do on the cheap ones is paint the bulb in something that soon burns off.

How do I access the wiring in the roof

Typically by dropping the head liner. They are large, ridged and don't bend .Most head liners are fastened anywhere you see something touching them, sun visors, grab handles, dome light housing.most of the time you should be able to do your wiring thing without completely removing liner, but if needed it could be done by dropping down at angle and sliding out through rear hatch.Be careful as they are very expensive to buy.

How to replace right side low beam head light bulb?

The wheelhouse liner is sometimes called the mud guard or the splash shield, whatever.
You may remove the right front tire.
-Start removing all those push pins and #7mm screws. No need to remove the entire liner. You may loosen only the half portion, just enough clearance for your arms to reach inside and aim for the rear of the headlamp.
-Reach for the Headlamp Bulb Accessory Cover. Rotate the cover counterclockwise and remove.
-Release the bulb from the headlamp assembly (turn counterclockwise) Disconnect the electrical connector. Just remember the positioning of the bulb so you can swiftly reinstall a new bulb.

Need to find out how to take out and repair the headliner

This is not a fun job you have to remove all the trim all away around the head liner remove the dome light and mirror for windshield if its not mounted to the window and remove the sun shades on both sides and any handles or o no bars you might have. This can take some time. If you want to replace the fabric you can go to any auto paint store and buy the spray on glue to reattach the liner or remove it and replace it with new cloth. If you need more help let me know.

How to access brake tail light to change

Tail light replacement is not as hard as it seems.
Tools needed:flat head screwdriver and a deep 5/32 socket(a pair of pliers will work).
Step 1: open trunk and pull back truck liner at tail light. There is a small button clip on liner.Use screwdriver to pop up the center of button clip, pull clip out of hole.
Step 2:You will see a black wire attached to the body of car with 2 white clips.Use screwdriver to pop clips off of studs.
Step 3:Remove the nuts from the studs and pull tail light assembly straight back away from car.The outer side of the light just snaps in and out of place.
Step 4:Turn light socket counter clockwise 1/3 turn and pull out.
Step 5:Pull bad bulb straight out and replace.Reverse steps to reassemble.

My 1988 buick lesabre has the felt ceiling material fallen away from the roof - how do I get the felt material stuck back up to the ceiling?

It's pretty hopeless to get it stuck back up right. It has a sponge backing that tears off when you glue it. The only right way is to get a new ceiling liner and put it up. But I assume your car is too old to want to do that.

I have tried spray on adhesive. I took the liner off from the dome light to provide a hole for me to poke my arm up through and spray the adhesive. But hot sunlight made the glue come loose.

The only partially effective remedy I found was to take off the doorway trim and tape the edges of the liner up tight and hold that in place with the doorway trim. It still sagged, but I could see out the rearview mirror.

I tried a hot iron to melt the glue and stick it up. It worked for about ten minutes.

You might try stiff strips of thin wood on the outside of the liner, wedged against the doorway trim and pressing up against the liner.

You might try some quite thick glue, so that it would soak through the sponge backing and penetrate the fabric. That would show spots on the ceiling, but it might hold it in place.

Good luck!
